I selfie therefore I am? ¤
Sure. Why not.

Stanley Glacier today with some great friends! Reached my goal of 25 hikes for 2017 and still lots of time to squeeze in a few more this Fall!

#throwbackthursday to that cross-Canada road trip I did a few weeks ago. Although some of the memories are kind of starting to blur.... #funwithphotoshop #superiorprairies #opacity #fade #sasktario

Pano from the top of Sentinel Pass looking down on Larch Valley. Highly recommend this hike. Great trails, easy hiking with amazing views that are well worth the effort. Get out there before the end of September people!

Beautiful Sunday hiking Larch Valley. September is the month to check out the golden larches in the Rockies and I'm so glad I finally got the chance. Well worth the extra effort to hike up to Sentinel Pass as well.

Had an amazing time at the Canmore Highland Games on Sunday. Watched the heavy sports for at least 4 hours, and then enjoyed some pipe band competitions and sheep dog demonstrations. Checked out the market and had bagpipes ringing in my ears long after I left. Caber toss was definitely my favourite event.

The RCMP Musical Ride in Banff this past weekend. Amazing horses and enthusiastic officers.

While in Thunder Bay we visited the Terry Fox monument and arrived at the same time as a man named Guy Amalfitano who was/is running across Canada, continuing Terry Fox's legacy. It was a very emotional event that we felt very lucky to see. Also stopped in at Kakabeka Falls and stayed in Slate River for a beautiful sunset.

Our last night on the road camping at Neys Provincial Park on the shore of Lake Superior just outside Marathon. Our campsite was literally a 10 second walk from the beach down a trail from our site. We arrived just in time to set up camp, go for a swim, and bring the stove down to the beach to cook supper and watch the sunset. Beautiful last night of our road trip.

I finally got to visit the Canadian Museum of Human Rights in Winnipeg, Manitoba! It was absolutely amazing. Fantastic exhibits with great interactive elements that make people think differently about human rights, a very complex issue. Could have spent multiple days there. You even get a mini booklet of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Highly recommend a visit there.

Made it to Regina and took a tour of the Legislative building. Pretty cool architecture that lent to some great photos. They had an epic library that I wanted to spend the entire day in, and our tour guide had some great stories about Canadian history.

This next batch are from the Great Sandhills of Saskatchewan!!! Located in the middle of nowhere outside of Spectre, Saskatchewan. Go to the Museum/Interpretive Center and they will give you a hand drawn, photocopied map. It is not to scale. But the distances were right...I think. The sand dunes have some of the softest sand your feet will ever touch (thank you glacial silt!). Great for yoga and for running down the sides and pretending to ski. 🏜
