April and Regina are two of my best friends since high school. Happy and appreciative they both came to celebrate my 30th birthday early with me here in the Bay Area. We realized this might be our last trip just us 3 in a long time so it was pretty sad saying goodbye. We've been through so much together over our 15+ year friendship. Love you two so much and see you in both in Hawaii in November for Joan and Andrew's wedding! 🌸

Completed my Second Half Marathon for 2017. This is my favorite course because of the scenic views but also my least favorite because of all the hills. With little training, still proud of myself. 1:47:31 w/ an average pace of 8:13 per mile. I may not be the buffest guy out there, but I'm definitely happy that I can consider myself a runner. Great job to @aprilanne123 and @rregina54 for finishing also!

Half year ago, I took a huge and expensive risk and moved my life to the Bay Area. Insane that it's already been this long. It hasn't been easy. Hard finding that balance of being able to explore and enjoy your money and also be able to pay for that rent at the beginning of the month. Every time I feel like I'm struggling, I stay positive, sometimes call my friends and remind myself that this is what I need to do. Still no regrets. It's been a great experience for me and I seriously love it here. In less than 2 weeks I'll be turning 30 and I'm excited to see some of my friends from Seattle who'll be visiting. Life is gooooooood. ✌🏼

I'm honored. Known Andrew for a couple years and he was my roommate before I moved to California. He has always motivated me with my fitness/health and gives great advice about relationships/life. I still remember the day when Joan and Andrew matched on tinder. I was just as excited as Joan. LOL. Can't wait for November!!

After a late lunch, decided to go to The Griffith Observatory to catch the sunset. I think everyone and their moms had the same idea and couldn't find any parking. If you squint real hard, u can see it though. Haha.
Great catching up @markiepooo! Until next time!

I never said that I had it all figured it out
I never said, I never said that I live my days without doubt
I swear all I've ever done was be honest and stay modest
So this is a, sincere, unscripted
Unwritten for all that you've given, forgiving, I'm driven
I wanna be better than I was, better than I am
So I say
All I'm trying to say is I thank you.

Saw a friend from Seattle this weekend and she noticed that I look happy again. She was there for me through my struggles in Seattle so for her to tell the difference says a lot. Just staying positive and continuing to make the Bay Area home.

Hike #2 ✅ 3.1 mile trail. Great view of the city on the top. Taking advantage of the sunny weekends and crazy how this is next to my work. Exploring and getting a good workout at the same time.

I finished!! I started my new job a month ago and a couple weeks into it, I got an email promoting the Kaiser sponsored run. I got motivated and decided to just do it. I trained for only two weeks so when I crossed the finish line I started tearing up and got emotional. Haha. Usually I have my friends or Ariel at the end to celebrate w/ but today I was alone. I did this for me. I didn't care about the time. All I wanted to do was finish and be proud of my new job. Surprisingly, I did well and finished in 1:46:31. Not my best but I'll freaking take it! Yayyyyy! 😭😭

Rain in the Bay Area is finally gone so I got to do my first hike! ✅ Didn't complete my 16 hikes of 2016 last year in WA since I got too busy with the move, but hoping I can do 17 in 2017. Thanks @brandundundun and @sams.lu for coming!

Already 4 months! Sheesh! I know I went to Seattle like 4 times in like a 6 week time span, but I'm happy to finally stay put. Loving my new job (my new coworkers are awesome). This ones a keeper. Excited to have my brothers, cousin, and some friends visit me in a few weeks. Just patiently waiting for the rain to go away so I can finally do the hikes here.

If there's one thing I would love do if I had more opportunities, it would be to travel more. In the meantime, I'm having so much fun exploring my new home. I'm thankful for my friends that I've made here who don't mind exploring with me. 😊
