This week’s @pieology student-athletes of the week: @csunsoftball & @csun_baseball Savannah Horvath and Nolan Bumstead!
Savannah Horvath had another impressive season with the Matadors as she hit .338 with 27 runs, 13 home runs, 41 RBI, 12 stolen bases and a .709 slugging percentage. Horvath led the conference in home runs, RBI and slugging percentage and was the only player in the Big West to post at least 10 home runs and 10 stolen bases. For her efforts, Horvath was named to the All-Big West Conference First Team for the third consecutive season!
Nolan Bumstead enjoyed a career season with the Matadors in 2017, posting a personal-best and a team-high .302 average at the plate with 25 runs, four home runs, 11 doubles and a .422 slugging percentage. Bumstead also led the way offensively in conference play, batting .360 with 16 runs, 11 RBI and a .506 slugging percentage. Bumstead earned awards for his work on and off the field as he racked up CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 Honors as well an All-Big West Honorable Mention during the year
