This weekend marks the 3 year anniversary of having to take myself to an emergency room, after waking up and realizing I couldn’t move without excruciating pain, as well as not feeling the right side of my body from the waist down. Upon arrival a doctor told me after his evaluation that my spine would collapse. I later learned that I have a degenerative spine condition, spondylosis. For some time that felt like a death sentence and that my life would never be the same. While I haven’t dealt with inflammation since that time, I do still deal with chronic pain, discomfort, and fatigue from this condition. I am so grateful that I have been fortunate to gain so much strength and stability, and be the athlete I am today with all the hard work I have put in. I am also extremely grateful with everyone in my life who has stood by me through some tough times, who have empathized, motivated and challenged me. Thank you.
