My great grandfather E.S. Higgins lived in Tacoma from 1908 to 1911. He designed and produced this piece for a mega-event held at Stadium Bowl called the US Military Tournament.
Over 100,000 people came for the 3 day event, from all parts of the country. It was sort of a big deal back then and was a big success.
The fine folks at @washingtonhistory just restored one of the original 3ft posters for the US Military Tournament - the only known surviving poster. Pretty incredible.
Tomorrow @lancekagey and I get to talk a little bit about it and also @rotatorcreative's involvement with the #PrairieLineTrail restoration project that we've been working on with @cityoftacoma and @bcradesign
I love #Tacoma. I love #history. I love #design. Proud to have a place within all three realms.
