So many of you have been asking (my heart is full, thank you, thank you, thank you), so I wanted to share an update :
The stolen Uhaul truck was located on E 57th St and Compton Ave near Vernon (or so I was told by Uhaul) in Los Angeles. It was emptied outside of a couple of broken shelves and packing materials. A police report was filed right away once we discovered the truck was missing, but no updates from the LAPD beyond finding the empty truck. There are no suspects yet as far as I know. The detective assigned to the case does not work weekends. 🤷🏻♀️ I am truly devastated, but trying to stay positive and as my dad tells me, “Not letting the bitches keep me down”. Rue and @michaeljspear are taking good care of me, and my life has looked like this picture the past couple of evenings. I’ve been spoiled with all the orange wine, pizza, and coconut ice cream a girl could ever ask for.
Also because so many of you have graciously asked what you can do, here are some things you can do to help (🙏🏻💕!) :
Keep an eye out for an abundance of Maria Stanley clothes at thrift stores, Wasteland, Buffalo Exchange, Crossroads, garage sales, swap meets, flea markets, etc… My entire inventory is out there somewhere (scroll to last picture to see what my label looks like). Outside of clothing, some eye catching pieces to look out for are a pair of 1960’s yellow swivel club chairs and a vintage brass/glass round coffee table (also pictured here). My dear friend @grannytash was sweet enough to create a @gofundme to help me get back on my feet. A link to this is in my profile.
I am eternally grateful for the outpour of your love and support. 💌
