The main questions I get is how do you cut the carbs? Stay on track? How did you drop 89 lbs? The answer is simple (not easy). I worked at it every day, tracked obsessively & learned all I could. I didn’t give up. Especially when I didn’t “feel” like it.
Why are we living in survival mode? Where is the intent for slaying our goals instead of being a victim to circumstances? Living life in cruise control is murdering your goals be it weight loss, gym goals, your dream job, etc.
As kids we were successful because we had a parent who gave zero fucks if we didn’t feel like it. They made us eat veggies, do homework, wake up for school, etc. But then adulting and we put it in cruise control and hit snooze on our dreams. Did you know that we are all an utter miracle??? Scientists have determined that the probability of you being who you are today (ie: the sperm & egg that created you) is a 1 in 400 trillion.... that’s a SERIOUS MIRACLE! So why live your life less than miraculously???Start living!
I’ve been at war w/ myself in a perpetual argument... “I need to wake up earlier”. But I don’t want to. I don’t like it. I’m a natural night owl... & the excuses go on & on. Lately I’ve been struggling & I finally decided enough is enough. So today I set my alarm at 5 & rolled out of bed.
I had time for myself, cleaned the house, read books, made lunches & enlisted my kids in responsibilities. This isn’t new info. I know this but holy moly, it has kicked my mindset back into check... again.
Make your AM a miracle. Wake up at 5 am & attack the day like a warrior. Stop investing your time on nonsensical waste. Live with intention. Check some boxes before the sun peeks up to be present for yourself, showing your kids greatness and slay your damn day. Waking up early means you’re going to sleep early. Did you know the sleep between 10 & midnight is the equivalent to 4 hours of sleep. No it is not “fun” but living an unfilled life is as joyous as a lobotomy.
Life altering decisions are made daily with our choices. A 5 second decision will separate you from living out your dreams or being a spectator to life! #earlymorningsquad #livewithpurpose #intentionalliving #goalslayer

Transformation Tuesday! This weekend was my birthday. I turned 40 and I consciously made the decision to partake throughout the weekend. This is something I’ve been terrified to do. Ive heard @ketophoria say 99% on track is monumentally more difficult than no cheats because there are no cravings. It’s true. Little cheats can derail you due to the cravings. But if you are aware you can be okay.
In order for this to be a sustainable lifestyle joy should be a part of this. My earlier part of this journey was utter militants AND highly effective... as I lost 79 lbs in 5 months but it shouldn’t be a punishment. I’m proud of what I accomplished but also I want joy to be a great part of my life. My birthday weekend, I chose to partake in a dessert, piña coladas and margaritas. I also made great keto choices as well and didn’t glutinously indulge (as I would’ve done before). Middle ground is something I struggle with as I’m an all or nothing chick. Even today as I’m back home I still indulged in a cookie. It’s hard even though I’ve lost the weight. I still struggle but I can’t be hard on myself. It also helps to remember the power of accountability, authenticity, appreciation of my prior accomplishments and knowing that happiness is not a crime . Our goals should be focused on enjoying a healthy body and shouldn’t be a prison sentence.
To be utterly honest what helped me lose weight is a militant form of keto and strictly obsessively tracking and sticking to 20 g carbs per day. I do not regret how I got to this point but as you progress in life your priorities and goals must shift too. In maintenance I don’t track, I don’t weigh myself daily and I’m lenient with keto. Living my best life yet #facetofacefriday. Left was my 30th. I thought I was in great shape. I looked good but man hello inflammation. yesterday was my 40th. I’m without a doubt living my best life yet. I feel the youngest and healthiest of my life and so grateful. Change doesn’t come without great sacrifice and I wouldn’t change a thing. Want ice cream in a pinch!!! This is so good and crazy easy to make. Get 1/4 c hwc, a splash of almond extract (substitute with extract of choice vanilla, orange, lemon, etc), add a dash of cinnamon, cardamom, 10 drops of liquid stevia or sweetener of choice and mix. Sample to see if it needs any more stuff and then add 1/4 frozen blueberries. Take a spoon and mash the blueberries till the mixture turns ice cream like. If you want it thicker add more frozen berries or if you want it more liquid like add less berries. I topped with @dangfoods coconut chips for some crunch. Some toasted almonds would be awesome too!!

I pushed the kids a bit as they’ve been eating too many chicken nuggets, donuts and junk food. They didn’t eat too much breakfast and I’m done harping on them. Well by lunch they were starving so I hit up Whole Foods. My oldest has been really asking about carbs and wants to eat more like I do. So he asked for chicken, rice and salad (yay!!). My middle got the typical rice and Mac and cheese (work in progress). But I told them before they could eat their lunch, they had to taste one of the following items off my plate. If they wanted dessert (grapes and @lilys_sweets_chocolate), then they would have to eat more. My youngest didn’t qualify for dessert and I stuck to my guns. The other two ate and earned dessert. I was shocked!!! I’m happy to see my local #wholefoodsdublin hanged up the hot food selections. Everyone. Of these items were delicious. How is everyone doing with the post Halloween hangover? My kids have been way more rambunctious with more arguing, meltdowns and the aching passion for all the sugar. It’s a slippery slope because the holidays for me have always been a struggle and I feel it all starts with Halloween, then my son’s birthday, my birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas and all the parties in between which are littered with lots of sugar, treats and extra pounds. Last year was my first year going through the holidays without eating off plan. If you follow my stories, you know that I ate off plan on Oct 27, 2018 for the first time since starting Keto May 19,2017. I’m back on but it’s really made me think about my kids. With all the meltdowns I decided to give my kids a choice and see if we could negotiate. I let them pick out 10 pieces of candy and give me the rest of their candy(to toss in the trash), then they could buy a toy. I hate clutter which most certainly includes toys but in this case I felt it was an investment well worth it. How are you handling the Halloween Hangover?
