Mama

So ive not posted in a while because I've been so stressed that the expensive kitchen of my dreams has been a complete bodge job by B&Q!! The cuts look a mess, nothing is level, broken wood just bracketed together, worktop joins are already failing and the screws are either sharp because they've used an impact driver or look crap. We've had the area manager out twice and it's still not sorted, they never ring to update me (I'm always chasing), should of had a delivery last Wednesday but apparently the courier didn't have the house number so it was being delivered Thursday, then Friday, then Wednesday and still nothing. Their customer service is appalling and my letter of complaint is going to be at least 10 pages!!!

WE HAVE A WORKING SINK!! So happy!!! Been using our ikea sink in the conservatory which has really helped but not having fresh running water since Monday has been a pain (Especially with having to wash and sterilize baby bottles). Little man ๐Ÿ™Œ was so excited he ran around looking for things to wash up. Big man was so excited he took over half way through.

Just need to get used to the tap, we keep squirting water everywhere! ๐Ÿคฃ

BLOOMING LOVELY DAY!! Been to hang my washing outside and couldn't help but wander through the garden looking at all the pretty colours.
I'm the sort of person that can't keep a cactus alive. I have several plants that have been sent to my mum's for resuscitation and I realised last night that the 2 indoor plants I have, hadn't been watered for over 3 weeks ๐Ÿ˜ฃ
I am trying though and I spent half of last week weeding (I forgot how much nettles stung!!!)

DAY 6 (if you include the weekend, only day 3 if you count the days the fitter's been here) Feels like a lot longer but at least it's starting to look like a kitchen now! Should be complete Monday ๐Ÿคž

Minor hiccups - include missing worktops, missing side panels and the additional upstands/splashback that I added to the order 18 weeks ago were never added. ๐Ÿ˜ง

Major hiccups - being charged an additional ยฃ420 ๐Ÿ˜ซ for electrics even though B&Q surveyed the property in January and said everything was fine. The fitter even said he would 'sort it' and when I mentioned to B&Q that a socket would be too close to the hob and would need moving, they said that they'd pay for any additional electrical work. However due to needing the sockets on a new ringmain, they wanted over ยฃ800 (the ยฃ420 is direct to the electrician) I will be making a written complaint of all the riddiculous delays and crap customer service when fitting has finished to avoid any further delays or awkwardness. It's all been very stressful ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข I would say that I wouldn't recommend B&Q to anyone but it sounds like all companies are the same.

After 15 LONG weeks of living in a house with a Baby๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ and no kitchen fitted, finally B&Q are coming tomorrow (should have been Monday but the fitters were finishing off another job). We left everything till last minute as usual, deciding to do other jobs first or having family time so we planned on doing it over the bank holiday weekend but then the hubby hurt his back.

Yesterday was filled with physio appointments, pharmacy runs, jabs for the little one and clearing the kitchen. We have the steriliser, microwave and bottle maker in the living room. Mini oven and toaster in the conservatory and kettle in the kitchen so the guys can make themselves brews ๐Ÿ˜‰

Today i have been grouting, knocking holes for plug sockets and clearing out the kitchen ready. It's been a busy DIY day as well as looking after 2 kids and doing a load of laundry. Gutted I didn't get to do touch up the paint๐ŸŽจ but it's a bit late to start now (can't be bothered) ๐Ÿคž Fingers crossed it all goes well tomorrow x x

Today has been a big day! We had an early start before it got too hot ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž We've removed the trellis and taken down the greenhouse (couldn't give it away so it's gone in the skip). So proud of my hubby for the work he's done today๐Ÿ…. I've tried to help but looking after 2 boys means he's done 75% of the work while I made bottles, changed nappies, washed up & played in the sandpit.
Not sure what we're planning out here yet... so many possibilities ๐Ÿ˜โ˜€โ˜€

Less than 4 days till our kitchen is being fitted and can't contain the excitement for much longer!! B&Q have just delivered all the bits and bobs (they FILLED the garage completely). The husband has been busy this week trying to finish little jobs and touching up areas ready for the installation. He's been filling holes, moving plug sockets, sanding, painting and needs to replace a few floor tiles.
We removed the understairs cupboard before we moved in. There was a big gap where the wall was so we went the local timber merchants and got an 'L' shaped piece of wood specially cut to cover the gap. Just need to paint now. We're having a worktop fitted above the machines so should look even better. Not sure what we'll use the storage space for yet and I don't want it to turn into a dumping ground like it is at the min. Any ideas, let me know!
3rs Skip has also arrived, hopefully this is the last one!! Going to be living off ready meals and using paper plates next week! X x

It's been a while since I last posted...the joys of being a parent I suppose. ๐Ÿคน

Today we've had this beautiful door fitted. Cost a few penny's but I think it's worth it!! Especially since the joiner had a few issues fitting it due to all the measurements being uneven and the wonky floor.

The sideboard from trendyproducts.co.uk (shipped from Italy ๐Ÿ˜š) took forever to build but it's got plenty of storage space (that we really needed). The shelves were a tenner from Aldi and I got 2 real and 1 artificial plant to fill them (hope I can keep these alive although just realised i haven't watered them in weeks ๐Ÿ˜ฎ) Now just need to paint the architrave and frame ๐ŸŽจ then put up a few more photo frames and this will be our first room fully completed!!

Small progress is still progress. Got a few slabs clean but then it started to rain, the baby woke up crying, then 3 year old fell over and landed in the muddy puddle ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Cheeky ๐Ÿต

Plan for tomorrow... to jet wash the patio.
My Dad & Brother have both done their's so it's given us the idea to get ours done tomorrow I've been eyeing up garden furniture in B&Q and trellis in Aldi๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฑ
Excited for summertime ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž Let's hope little man doesn't get upset we wash his chalk dinosaur away ๐Ÿšฟ

There's a big enough gap between the sofa and our conservatory window for our toddler to hide. The cheeky monkey ๐Ÿต loves cars, we find them everywhere!!

Not really had time to post in the last 5 weeks (can't believe we've been in that long already)! Moving house with a 3 year old & an 8 week old was chaotic to say the least. Its been a major adjustment for our little boy who was fully potty trained and now no longer is ๐Ÿ˜ฅ๐Ÿ˜ซ Our other little boy is now 13 weeks old & as long as he's got the stars on he's happy & sleeps all night (Little angel ๐Ÿ’ซ)
