Remember him before you become fearful of falling and worry about danger in the streets; before your hair turns white like an almond tree in bloom, and you drag along without energy like a dying grasshopper, and the caperberry no longer inspires sexual desire. Remember him before you near the grave, your everlasting home, when the mourners will weep at your funeral.
- Ecclesiastes 12:5
If you haven't read Ecclesiastes I really recommend that you do. I just finished reading it straight through and it brought to my attention how many times we focus on things that are vain and unfulfilling. Vanity is empty, so why do we spend so much time worrying about it? Why not use our time to fear God and appreciate the little things he gave us that we're taking for granted? Gratification is found in love, not in material. Where's your focus?
