We are extremely sad to hear of the passing of a very special client and friend, Saunders Schultz.
Saunders passed away peacefully yesterday in the presence of family. He was 90 years old.
We worked on an incredible project with Saunders where we enlarged and cast one of his sculptures for the headquarters of @caleresinc in St.Louis Missouri. It was our first international project, and was a large technically challenging work that took almost two years from conception to completion.
This project was incredibly important to us, and Saunders. He said it might be the last time he would do anything 'big' in the public art realm given his age, and therefore we had to make it extra perfect. For a man with a long career in public art and large scale sculpture (one of his works in St. Louis is a relief on the exterior wall of a building spanning 80 floors in height), we didn't want to believe that the sculpture we were working on would be his last, but we still gave it everything we had. 'Continuum' did end up being Saunders' final work in an exceptionally successful art career. We are so proud to have made it for him, and are so thankful to have met and worked with him.
Our condolences to the family.
