THE FIRST PRIDE WAS A RIOT
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

This time of year is kinda great but also kinda stressful. So many companies jumping in with their pride flags and items and yet actually do not support LGBTQAI people. A good example is all the estate agents who put a rainbow sticker in their window. They may accept LGBTQAI people but what about those people they kick out of accommodation or not allowing people to be on a contract if they don’t have a guarantor (LGBTQAI people are more likely to be estranged from family)? Do they actively go the extra mile for us considering our community has a higher rate of homelessness? Then all the companies using our identities as a “rebrand” : f*<$ y#u . •
🏳️‍🌈 BUY FROM QUEER BRANDS & ARTISTS 🏳️‍🌈 •

Remember that LGBTQAI+ people do not have equality yet, especially people of colour, disabled people (inc mental health), Black people, autistic, Deaf, trans, HIV+, sex workers, fat people, women & poor people.

You’re allowed to be angry. Especially if it’s about what happened to you.

🛑 ✋ intrusive thoughts can be very scary and often about topics and events you don’t want to think about. Other times they can be a loud voice in your head shouting, in your own voice, someone else’s, an eating disorder... it is possible to survive them though. Comment below what has helped you. •

It’s #WorldIBDday - IBD or Inflamitory Bowel Disease which includes colitis and Crohn’s disease. .
This was requested by Jess, one of my mums work colleagues who has ulcerative colitis. Thanks Jess for being open and sharing your experience! I don’t have personal experience but here is some information copied from the NHS website. •
“Ulcerative colitis is a long-term condition, where the colon and rectum become inflamed .
The colon is the large intestine (bowel), and the rectum is the end of the bowel where stools are stored.
Small ulcers can develop on the colon's lining, and can bleed and produce pus.

Symptoms of ulcerative colitis
The main symptoms of ulcerative colitis are: • recurring diarrhoea, which may contain blood, mucus or pus • abdominal (tummy) pain • needing to empty your bowels frequently

You may also experience fatigue (extreme tiredness), loss of appetite and weight loss.
The severity of the symptoms varies, depending on how much of the rectum and colon is inflamed and how severe the inflammation is. For some people, the condition has a significant impact on their everyday lives.”

[image description: a hand drawn illustration of a young white woman smiling. She is thin, has pale skin, blue eyes and blonde hair. Below her is a purple banner which says “not every disease is visible, I may look fine but I’m fighting a battle everyday. I have ulcerative colitis”. Behind her the background is pink with pink stripes. There is a circular purple border which is dark purple. The other images show the drawing being made, 2nd is a pencil outline, 3rd is just ink outline and 4th is the back of the drawing. ] #ulcerativecolitis #colitis #crohns #crohnsdisease #ulcerativecolitis #ileostomy #ileostomybag #stoma #chronicillness #spoonie #spoonielife #worldibdday2019

CN ASSAULTS (no details)
🌻
After what I witnessed last night at a concert, I made this to ask men to be vigilant at concerts. Look around you note who is there. Support us. Concerts should be fun and we should all be safe 💖

🌻. Shoutout to @safegigs4women . •
🌻
Please share this either in stories or on your page, but please credit me. •
🌻
Just to also say, also look out for disabled people, fat people, black and POC people, young people and LGBTQAI people, all are at higher risk of being assaulted. .

[image description: hand drawn illustration of a marbled pastel rainbow background. There is black text which reads “how to prevent assaults at concerts”. The font is wavy. Below it says “1. Don’t assault people. 2. Men: look out for the women, non-binary and trans people around you. If you see something try to stop it. Keep us safe without expecting anything in return. “. There is an illustration of a daisy with a smiley face bottom right. ] #concerts #nomeansno #metoo #manicstreetpreachers

CN talk of sexual assault, no details. •
Everyone should feel safe at concerts and not be worried about sexual assault. Referring to a twitter quote going around, how come basically every woman, non binary person, queer, trans person, femme presenting person I ask been sexually assaulted at a gig yet I don’t know a perpetrator? It’s happened to me twice before. One time was at a Manic Street Preachers gig in 2007. I was lucky that I was on the barrier with a large group of friends and my dad was further back. My friend saw what happened and the two men were kicked out the venue before the band started. But since then I always think about it (and the other time). Extra wary, who is around me, who might be a perpetrator...

This is a message for mostly cis straight men although could also include others, look out for women, non-binary people, trans people, queer people, femme presenting people at concerts. Push people away who you think could be bothering them. Have your eyes and ears open. Keep in mind that if the person is black or POC, fat, disabled... they’re even more of a minority and may need more support. It’s not acceptable to grope people or rub yourself sexually against someone. Even if the person is crowd surfing, it’s not an opportunity for you to take advantage. •
Live music is fun and should be great for everyone! •
