Hello, Data.
Data is a fictional character in the Star Trek TV series and films. Portrayed by actor Brent Spiner, he is a self-aware, sapient, sentient, and anatomically fully functional android. Although #Data has impressive artificial intelligence, he often experiences difficulties understanding human behaviour and cannot feel emotion. An effort to further his growth as an artificial life form leads to the addition of an “emotion chip” to his circuitry so that he can finally experience human emotion. He has some difficulties integrating his new feelings, but eventually learns to control them. Data is featured in the exhibition #hellorobot.

#LeveL by mischer’traxler studio: A fragile system as a balancing act that takes into account the needs of both individuals and crowds. Every movement in the room, whether caused by visitors, a draft of air or vibrations, is transformed in the object and thus in the luminescence of the object. The intensity of the light also fluctuates as long as the structure is in a state of imbalance.

Photographer Edward Burtynsky visited the most important shipyards and industrial plants in #China for his 2005 art project, allowing us to see how #global mass consumption is organised. Cozy future? The artist Shawn Maximo creates visions of possible future living spaces by mixing various concepts of spatial utilisation, which is why his photographs seem at the same time both strange and familiar. In Going Green, we see a production hall with autonomous robots working on a manufacturing line producing “green technology”. In the foreground of this scene devoid of humans we see a scattering of what looks like camping equipment: an air mattress, a folding chair, a camping stove. It begs the question of the role of humans in this post-industrial scenario. Have they already been made obsolete in the work force?

Wikihouse is the name of an interdisciplinary team, an open design process, and a transformable modular building system for affordable housing. The core concept consists of digital plans for modular timber framing that can be realized locally with a CNC milling machine. This mode of construction is started to become the new industry standard, the "brick and martar of the digital age." Through a so-called "library," free licensing allow plans to be individually expanded or altered using conventionals computer based drawing programs.

#ichweißnicht - Growing Relations between Things is an exhibition in context of the @viebiennale at the #MAKvienna: The exhibition title alludes specifically to Birgit Jürgenssen’s photographic work ich weiß nicht (2001), that depicts the artist’s car snowed under in a parking spot.
