I haven't shared much throughout my pregnancy journey. There's many reasons for this; staying present in my life to celebrate this beautiful process with my family primarily. Second, I wanted to go through this process as naturally as possible. As many of you know, I've struggled with anxiety and depression my entire life. Being that this is a Rainbow baby we wanted to ensure the healthiest development possible for both our baby and our family. We kept our journey relaxed, low key and filled with positivity & love.
On to the star of the show - the bump! Yes it is tiny, but it is perfect. I wanted to address some concerns that have been voiced ("She's so tiny!" "Does she eat?", and my personal favorite "Is she on drugs?" 😑). Every woman out there hears a plethora of advice/comments from random people that's, let's call it what it is, crazy. Here's the real deal, the reasons for the size of the bump.🤰
Ladies, your first pregnancy you tend to carry small, and high - resulting in a smaller bump.
Fun fact about my glorious uterus - it's tilted! ☺🙃☺ What the f#*$ does that mean? Simply that it's not in the front of my abdomen, but angled toward my back - resulting in a smaller bump.
My diet is (surprisingly to me at this point) MUCH cleaner than most folks, particularly woman experiencing hormone fluctuations and crazy cravings (pickles & ice cream anyone?🥒🍦🥒) Perfection is impossible, especially with a sweet tooth like mine, but my diet has been pescatarian (baby needs those omegas!), primarily wild caught, organic & locally sourced whenever possible. That said the added weight from a "traditional American diet" that contributes to the big bumps your used to seeing, I haven't had. The lack of preservatives and what I call "poisons" that riddle our current food system I've been trying my hardest to keep from our baby, and the result is - a smaller bump.
