I, along with many of my friends, are NOT religious. We have a relationship with Jesus, and yes there is a difference. Jesus was the one whom the sick, poor, sinful, and the outcast gravitated to and felt at ease with. He was God in the flesh and manifested Gods love. In his presence, those who were imperfect didn’t fear of him. Nor did they feel condemned or judged. Which is what a lot of people think about God. Jesus kept his harshest words for those who were perfect based on their own estimation. If you look carefully at all biblical accounts of Jesus, He didn’t get along well with the religious people of His day, who were also known as Pharisees. Although the Pharisees never admitted it, they were extremely critical, judgmental, faultfinding, legalistic, pretentious, and ignorant. They made it seem like they had a love for God but when they stood in His actual presence (Jesus) they were too self-occupied to even recognize Him. A lot of people still walk around and believe things like this today. The religious people. But the God they speak of, the one who condemns, judges and creates laws for you, that is not the God I am writing about right now. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, did not came to this earth to condemn us. He came to serve and save us, and that is exactly what He did. He is a God of Grace and forgiveness. He loves you soo much and does NOT hold mistakes against you. He doesn’t even see those mistakes. He sees you through the eyes of love and that is the God we should all want to believe in and walk like, not some religious condemner!! I was told that it’s good to be a ‘low key christian’ but with so many people believing that our God is a judgmental, religious Father, I can not just keep my mouth shut and keep people from having a relationship with their Heavenly Father and finding the truth that sets them free from so many things.
