Expert vs. Influencer

Social media is an absolute shit storm of information. It’s both an incredibly useful and dangerous resource. When it comes to applying social media content to your personal health, we urge you to carefully review where your information comes from. Your health is not a cultural category or something cool and trendy to make light of; rather, it merits your greatest respect and consideration.

While an expert can absolutely be influential, not all influencers are experts! An account with hundreds of thousands of followers may be seductive, but just because that individual did a Whole30 once or took up an interest in Olympic lifting doesn’t necessarily qualify him/her to dole out nutrition advice or provide deadlifting tips on the ‘gram.

We are NOT suggesting that you have to be an expert in order to captivate and inspire your audience, or share your stories and life. However, as this wonderfully diverse and social space becomes more and more saturated, credibility can become foggy and discerning between legitimate knowledge and flimsy guidance becomes difficult. Do some digging. Demand quality and credentials in the content you consume – especially when it comes to executing health advice!

Trainers -vs- Cheerleaders

Something many of you may not realize is the ruthless onboarding process we put our training staff through. Charisma and a nice smile might be a sought-after quality industry wide, but we place immense emphasis on the significance of a well-rounded, technically excellent training staff. Not only do we require legitimate strength and conditioning certifications (you’d be shocked by the number of studios that don’t require as much as a first aid cert from their instructors), but prospective trainers go through in-house training that lasts anywhere from four to eight weeks before they can take the schedule. The nature of our trainer onboarding is so extensive that roughly 30% of prospective trainers don’t even hit the floor. Consider it our own cut throat version of Natural Selection. For the individual who prioritizes human interaction and a high caliber of coaching that lends attention to proper movement mechanics (in addition to personality and a killer playlist), we won’t disappoint.
