In two weeks, I will be packing up and leaving for Las Vegas to compete for the title of Miss Nevada 2017. This is my fifth year going to state, but my third time competing as a miss contestant. Each year I have gone, I have gained more experiences and learned many lessons. As Miss Carson City, I've been preparing like no other. From late night workouts, rigorous talent rehearsals, and constantly going over interview questions, I feel at peace knowing I have done so much to get ready to compete for my dream job. This organization has without a doubt changed my life and pushed me in a direction that my 10 year old self only ever dreamed about. I have finished my sophomore year of college debt free thanks to the scholarship opportunities I have been provided with each title I earned. I found my true passion that I want to continue on for the rest of my life on the Alzheimer's community. I have better my health and body with clean eating and exercising after being self conscious about my appearance for years. I have become the person I strived to be. I give all credit and thanks to the Miss Nevada Organization for helping me become my best self. Being Miss Nevada would not just mean wearing a crown and sash, but a year of giving back to a state that has given me so much and a chance to create connections to not only promote my platform, but the organization as whole to other girls who wish to be up on that stage themselves. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to represent my home state at Miss America. Now, it's crunch time and work to make that dream become a reality.
