I’ve been thinking a lot about sustainability and what it means to me, what it meant yesterday, last year and years ago. It’s forever changing. I am more educated and thoughtful about the size of my footprint. I am more aware about how ingredients are farmed, harvested, processed and sold. When Nick and I started this thing we just wanted to make a candle that was true, honest and transparent. Over the course of the last three years we have evolved and our ideas have changed. We started out with a little tin with a cotton wick and now pour our candles in glass with an organically farmed, unprocessed, hand braided hemp wick. We started with two sizes and now we pour one... it doesn’t seem fair to Mother Nature to use her resources for a baby travel candle that only burns for 12 hours.
We are going to scale back a bit. We have taken down our online shop but have AMAZING stockists carrying our coconut & beeswax beauties. We are going to work with a Prairie beekeeper so we understand better how the bees do what they do. We will continue responsibly wildcrafting Canadian ingredients for collaborations and move forward with our promise to work with only direct purchased, organically farmed and sustainably foraged ingredients.
While we are working on us, feel free to be in touch. We are so happy to fill custom orders and excited to collaborate with like minded makers. 💛
