Since Saturday my beautiful boy had been showing signs of distress. He wasn't behaving like his normal bubbly self, started refusing food and vocalizing loudly as if in a lot of pain.
We hurried him to the vet and he was diagnosed with Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD). He had not shown any signs that something was wrong beforehand and when we took him to the vet he already had an urethral obstruction and needed to have a catheter put in to remove the stones and plugs that were blocking the passage of urine, relieving the obstruction.
Unfortunately things escalated quickly, he became very weak, lethargic and dehydrated as he started vomiting after the procedures.
He was adimitted back to the clinic to be kept under observation, see if they could get his fluid levels up and if he would start responding to the antibiotics, but he did not resist and passed away this morning.
I cannot begin to explain how hard it is to loose him, specially so suddenly.
He was very loved ever since the first day he chose to walk into our home and never leave.
I will miss you forever, big guy!
