what a sad, sad week for our country. here’s some things I’ve been doing to try to make a stand against the policies that allowed a terrorist in our country to kill and injure hundreds of innocent citizens, and the ineffective leadership by our “president” to provide humanitarian aid to americans in puerto rico who need it most. you should do them too.
1. text RESIST to 50409 (@resistbot) to write your state representatives urging them to fight for gun control reform.
2. text ACT to 64433 to get involved with @everytown, a group which has been working to pass state-level gun reform policies since 2014. you can pledge your support and call your congressman or woman to vote NO on current NRA backed bills in congress.
3. donate to puerto rico relief, and get some great art by pratt students while doing it! from 10am-6pm today, relief prints (located on pratt campus, east 101) is donating 100% of proceeds to puerto rico through the charity, direct relief (@scheiermank)..... 4. if art prints aren’t your thing (can’t relate) consider donating $5 to any of the amazing organizations working to provide relief efforts for puerto rico (@unicef, @unicefusa, @humanesociety, @hispanic_federation, etc.) As well, I am donating my birthday this year to relief funds through global giving (link in bio!). in 10 days, we’ve raised almost $900. let’s keep it going!! onward!
