Hello, it still #globalentreprenuershipweek
@Regranned from @femalepreneurs - “My name is Abiola Olowolagba, MD/CEO of @ltbconsult. My first attempt at starting my own business was in 2001, when I told my late father I wanted to start a coffee shop at Allen Avenue, Ikeja − A place where people could come in, have coffee or tea with snacks and maybe rent a book to read. As young as I was then, the picture was clear.
My second attempt was in 2008 when I started BIMOL PROPERTIES NIG LTD. I resigned and started working tirelessly to grow my business, looking for funds from family and all. Though the business flourished, I had to shut down operation and go back to labour market due to some economic factors.
In 2013, I started LTB CONSULT NG; an education management and consulting firm, while I was still gainfully employed. Many opportunities that could grow the company showed up but I couldn’t accept them as I was employed. Meanwhile, I noticed that I kept building people’s businesses while my ideas die.
In October 2016, I resigned and officially started LTB Consult. So far, I am grateful and feel fulfilled for how far we have come. I have utilised my professional network so well and it is paying off for me. Our management consultant unit has grown tremendously and we have synergy with SMEs. I know that this is just the beginning for us.
The most surprising factor is that the future hasn’t been this bright and certain. Am I scared? Yes! Do I allow it get to me? No!!!
My advice to other entrepreneurs: JUST DO IT!” #gew
