Dreaming Spires  🌟 Share the Most Amazing Structures & Designs... . 🌟Love great architecture & before/after pics of house transformations

Since @lovedreamingspires is about design as well as architecture, here's something a little different. Hidden in plain sight! How many of these had you already spotted!?
.
.
Clever design - whether in architecture or here in logos - is wonderful, isn't it! What's *your* favourite clever piece of design? Could be a building or furniture or logos or whatever you choose to nominate! 🤗 .
.
And if you love my posts, then... have you already ♥️ + 💬 + 🤗 + 🤩? (= loved + commented + followed + turned on your post notifications so that Insta will continue to show them to you?)

Yep, it's an airport. Boston's @logan_international Airport, to be precise.
.
.
Did you know? When Terminal B was in the middle of expansion plans, @aecom was asked to inject a contemporary look to it. The solution was strategic colour blocking, using practical colours on the high-wear seat cushions and brighter, mood-setting tones on the seat backs that catch people’s eyes.
.
.
The spectrum of colour progresses the whole 600 feet of the concourse, and provides subliminal wayfinding for people to find where they are, like color zones in parking lots.

Thanks to @nlptrekker for the cover shot 📸, and @arconas for the third. (second is unknown)

Architects @valentina_audrito and @jobaeck designed the amazing #VillaChameleon using ‘landscaped architecture’, ie blurring the boundaries between natural and built environments. As a result, the buildings appear to be a part of the land itself sometimes disappearing within it, and then at other times, emerging from it.
.
.
The different levels give the property a sense of discovery, and surprises (such as the sunken bathtub pictured on the cover pic) are everywhere.
.
.
Did you know? In line with traditional Balinese 🇮🇩 architecture, the different pavillions accomodate different functions and all communal spaces are kept open towards the elements! Only the bedrooms and other more private spaces such as office and gym are closeable!
.
.
Which area of this contemporary home would YOU most love to experience?

Attrap'Rêves is a quirky bubble hotel - and, well, you've seen the video! 🤗
.
.
Did you know? The glorified fishbowls feature tables for two, electricity, showers, and scenic viewpoints in all directions. A silent wind-blower keeps the cozy cocoon inflated, and a telescope in each room lets lovers gaze at the stars!

What if I told you that the trunk of the largest indoor tree (82 feet tall / 25 m) is actually artificial!? Yes, man-made... .
.
Or that this biodome functions as a REAL ecosystem and boasts over 3,000 species of plants, insects, and animals including sloths and toucans and other rainforest creatures!?
.
.
And what if I then revealed to you that it's an actual indoor tropical RAINFOREST... in Dubai!?
.
.
Yes, really. Amazing, isn't it! It's @thegreenplanetdubai 🇦🇪 .
.
What rainforest creature would *you* most like to meet?
.
.
It was designed by Canadian firm #GroutMcTavishArchitects. The Green Planet is encased within a 30 metre by 30 metre origami-like glass cube, with four floors (plus two below-grade spaces) that encircle a 25-metre-high life-sustaining tree — the largest indoor man-made tree of its kind. Visitors enter the bio-dome at ground level, into a mossy flooded rainforest floor where a giant aquarium containing stingrays, freshwater turtles and arapaima is installed. A winding path takes you around the tree and up to the very top of the building, offering a panoramic view of the forest, and along the way, visitors can see wildlife nestling amongst the greenery.

Agroecologist Amlankusum, together with Paris-based  #VincentCallebaut Architectures, has created #Hyperions, a vertical, energy positive eco-neighborhood proposed for Jaypee Green Sports City in the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR) in India.
.
.
Hyperions will comprise six 36-storey garden towers, each of which houses a combination of residential and office spaces. The towers are built with Delhi-farmed cross-laminated timber (CLT), and are covered with orchard gardens.

Did you know? Operational energy—energy for lighting, climate control, water heating, et cetera—is produced on-site, for example through wind lampposts that produce their own electricity!

How quickly did you guess the identity of this building?

The Bilbao Arena was designed by the architects Javier Pérez Uribarri and Nicolas Espinsa Barrientos of ACXT.
.
.
Did you know? It was designed like a tree: the pillars brace the structure's metal façade of painted steel sheets in various colors, and the façade hides all the machinery for climate control.
.
.
And it was designed with the kind of permeable galvanized steel mesh normally used for the containment of sloped roads. Thus the space of the corridors is open to the outdoor environment, requires no ventilation or air conditioning and increases fire evacuation safety! .

@RiversideMuseum in #Glasgow by @zahahadidarchitects...
.
.
... and interior and aerial shots of the Riverside Museum - a museum of transport celebrating Glasgow’s rich engineering traditions.
.
.
Did you know? The pleated outline symbolises a wave flowing from city to waterfront to reflect Glasgow's shipbuilding and seafaring legacy! It connects two waterways so it is a liquid, fluid design - a third metallic river. But it was commissioned in 2004, before the financial collapse of recent years left the rest of the area undeveloped and empty... .

My story about the friendship between a tree, a leaf, and a breeze needs an amazing illustrator. Do you know anyone sufficiently talented? .
.
I'm a published author looking for an incredible artist who would love to join forces with me to illustrate it, ideally with pen-and-ink, with the sort of richness in these screenshots.... .

@SouthbankCentre in London : restoration by @fcbstudios

Did you know? Not everyone loved the Southbank Centre when it was first built. One critic even described it as ‘a clever way of building a nuclear power station in the middle of London without anyone objecting"! 😂

Did you guess it from my Story yesterday? Here it is...
.
.
Isn't this an amazing building! It's the #LeezaSoho Tower in Beijing by @zahahadidarchitects - one of Hadid's last designs before her untimely death.
.
.
Did you know? The 46-storey double-glass-walled atrium “twists” as it ascends, creating a translucent chasm between the building’s two halves that offers staggering views of the surrounding city - and the entire building prioritises sustainability!
