On Wednesday, we held our first ever Felix Cup Competition!! This is named after Felix, one of our dedicated alumni, giving him some well deserved recognition for the many years he has supported us and given back to the club as a BULSCA judge.

The competition consisted of three teams competing in individual speeds events, relays and a wet SERC, mimicking both Speeds and BULSCA Champs! It was a great evening for all but in the end Rhianna's team came out on top as the overall winners!

Well done to all who took part and a big thank you to Sam for organising the evening and all the committee helpers! We're now looking forward to next year where we'll continue this as an annual tradition!

British Universities Lifesaving Championships- Day 1

Our team of 12 athletes (plus 3 individual competitors) took to the water, of Bath University Swimming Pool, for the Speeds events today!

With a mixture of individual and team events we saw many different successes and great performances from everyone!
Every athlete achieved a PB in at least one event proving their hard work.
A special mention must go to James Blaby for achieving two British National Records for 100m rescue medley and 200m Super (awaiting confirmation). Another mention to Lea Donovan for smashing her own British University record in 100m rescue.

In the relays, the girls medley relay (Lea, Jess, Libby and Emily) matched the previous British University record and in the newly introduced Pool Lifesaver relay the mixed team (Libby, Sam, James and Lea) set the bar high for the rest of the nation.
In particular, a huge well done goes to the individuals who have competed in events for their first time and a massive thank you to all of our amazing helpers and judges who worked really hard today.

Roll on tomorrow for Day 2!!! @lboroau #Lborolifesaving #Lborowalksonwater
