"If you don't have wrinkles you haven't laughed enough" -Phyllis Dillar
I'll take the smile lines if it means I've been enjoying this crazy ride of life! Whose with me babes?
I do also believe that aging gracefully is a beautiful and healing practice.
With that in mind, I'd love to shed some light on the actual aging process from the point of view of alignment and fascia ✌🏻
Did you know that aging is actually a form of dehydration? It makes sense right? The older we get the stiffer, more compressed, tense we become, gravity takes a toll and the wrinkles show up too. Scar tissue or knots are actually dehydrated, dried up tissue lacking oxygenated blood and circulation. Connective tissue fibers have dried out and become thick, dense and stuck to each other which actually ages the skin as well!
As we grow older, we tend to move less, hunch more and become stagnant and compressed from stress, trauma, injuries and gravity. This leads to more adhesions, causing more pain and discomfort and decreasing our mobility and causes us to move even less.
But, there is hope for us all 🙏🏼 🌈
Keeping our tissues youthful, supple and hydrated simply requires more varied and biomechanically sound human movement. Fluid Movement is the key to staying youthful, plus taking hot Magnesium Chloride Salt baths, nourishing with lots of healthy fats and minerals, being in nature 🌱getting Bodywork, rolling, breathing, twisting, inverting and staying well hydrated are all incredibly important to delay this drying up process! Whose ready for some deep and restorative hydration?
Plus, staying properly hydrated with high quality water 💧is incredibly important too. Of course drinking high quality water 💦 is important (I love @beyondo2alkalinewater alkaline water) , But utilizing this water efficiently on a cellular level with tissue hydration is the game changer to maintain our sense of youth and glow from the inside out!
