Some of my favorite ingredients in puff pastry | Doesn’t get easier than this 😉| #TheHostessWithLornaMaseko | #CelebrityCook | #CulinaryPrincess | #FoodLover |. Ingredients:
1 x roll ready-made puff pastry
2 eggs – beaten
125g Parma Ham or Prosciutto
6 x fresh figs
2 x balls buffalo mozzarella
250g mixed exotic tomatoes
1 handful fresh basil
¼ cup balsamic reduction or glaze
To make the tart case, roll the puff pastry out onto a lightly floured surface and roll over it once or twice with a rolling pin. Cut 2cm strips off each edge of the pastry, & using beaten egg as your glue, glue the strips onto the sides of the pastry to form a frame. Brush the whole tart base with egg wash before using a fork to prick holes along the bottom surface of the tart.
Carefully lift the pastry onto a baking tray lined with baking paper and place into an oven pre-heated to 200°C until crisp, puffed & golden. This should take around 15 minutes.
Once the base is ready, simply decorate it with the prosciutto, figs, tomatoes, mozzarella, basil & balsamic drizzle. This makes 8 slices...
