U P L I F T E D | Beaut weekend of wedding celebrations ft. copious mojitos, tennis and cheese (obviously). Of course when the Polaroid camera comes out on the dance floor and @tomllew picks you up, you have to return the favour because #girlsarestrongtoo πŸ’ͺand just to preempt the DMs asking me if I do 'lift carry' for money, the answer is πŸ™…#nothanks

Sweet dreams are made of these 🌸🍬🍧🍑🍀 Beautiful art install by @whybray for @boldtendencies thank you so much for letting me flip my perspective in such a magical place πŸ™ πŸ“· @ninahealthily

H A P P Y F R I D A Y | πŸ™Œ It's nearly the weekend but first a day of climbing and leaping around London with @ninahealthily followed by a BBQ with some of my faves πŸ‘Œ

F E E L I N G M A S E L F | after another amazing lesson with @ninahealthily i'm super proud of this mini routine where I took my hand off and DIDN'T DIE πŸ™ŒI'm already so excited for the next one #uhoh #completelyaddicted #toomanyhobbies

G A M E F A C E | maybe you've noticed by now but my game face is a massive grin 😁Whether I'm terrified, have no idea what I'm doing, can't do it or all of the above my face always styles it out πŸ˜‚ Cannot wait for another pole class with @ninahealthily today, something says I'm gonna be pulling this face a lot πŸ˜„#cheeseygrin #icanthelpit #itsjustmyface

S C R E E N S H O T S | I could have just posted a still of this video showing the final pose but I figured that photos of really challenging moves are what get me into this mess all the time. You see a photo of a perfect pose in a little Instagram square and think how hard can this be?! The next thing you know you are repeatedly face planting into a radiator πŸ’I had been trying this hollow back forearm stand for a good 30 minutes at this point so whilst my shoulders were more open they were also very tired (as evidenced at the end of this video 😜) So here is the full process complete with shaking, grunting and rolling around on the floor because my arms wouldn't arm anymore. If you are into that kind of thing then check my stories for more fails πŸ˜‚ #itlookedeasierinthephoto

F I N D I N G B A L A N C E | Eating cake for breakfast whilst looking at other people exercising on Instagram. That counts as balance right πŸ˜‰ πŸ“· @moore_jonny πŸ‘– @sportseditteam

F I R S T | time basing 2 people in a h2h 🀰the pressure of not killing 1 person is normally enough but @sylviasyoga decided to step up my stress levels and throw a baby into the mix. This h2h was wobbly AF but that's what happen when you don't train it for over 3 months πŸ’ Looking forward to getting this more stable again and getting my gains as Sylvia gets heavier πŸ˜‚ #allforthegains #londonacrobaby

M E N T A L H E A L T H C H E C K I N | As I said I a previous post, I don't want to stop talking about mental health just because it's no longer a trending # or an awareness week. Mental health isn't all inpatient admissions and hearing voices (although that's fine too). Think of your physical health, you can have a little sniffle or a full blown bout of the flu. Your can bruise your knee or you can need your leg amputated. We've all got physical health niggles and if we really paid attention we all have mental health niggles too. I found this picture on Pinterest at the weekend and it really prompted me to think about my mental health goals for the week as well as my physical. Physically I want to keep consistently working my handstand press and mentally I want to tune in to my internal narrator. I have a feeling I have taken my eye off the ball and it has slipped from being a cheerleader to an enemy. It's quite easy to tune in, listen to the thoughts you have when you look in the mirror/get something wrong/choose food? It's amazing how many sneaky nasty thoughts can creep into our every day consciousness. There are many psychological theories of behaviour change but almost all of them acknowledge there is a stage of precontemplation (unawareness) that is followed by contemplation (awareness). Sometimes it can feel like being aware doesn't doesn't fix a problem but I think this is one of the hardest stages of change and listening non judgmentally to yourself is the biggest step. Remember, Kindness starts at home πŸ’ͺπŸ’™#mentalhealthmatters

Q U E S T F O R T H E P R E S S | After a great handstand class with @sylviasyoga at @yotopia last week this is my new go to handstand sequence at the moment. Press handstands can be a flexibility skill or a strength skill. If you don't have very flexible hips then it's going to require a lot more shoulder and core strength to get lift off. I love this routine because it trains my active flexibility as well as my shoulder and core strength. Each exercise is sped up at least 2 x so if you are trying it at home think slow and controlled movements! 1️⃣ Straddle scoops x 20- keep the arms by ears at all times and keep your knees facing the ceiling 2️⃣ Straddle hovers 20s - arms by ears, don't rest on the floor! 3️⃣ Quad activation- engage the core & don't lean back 4️⃣ Straddle presses- keep arms straight and ears hidden. Press the ground away and shift the shoulders forward until the feet float (in theory!) 5️⃣ Wall presses- try and lower your feet as low as you can but not so low that you can't get press back up 6️⃣ Negative presses x 5- lower from handstand through straddle as slowly as possible 7️⃣ Press off blocks/books/sofas use whatever height your hamstrings will allow! πŸ’ͺ

I N V E R T Y O S E L F | @sylviasyoga and I will be getting you upside down (on each other's hands and feet) at @indabayoga today at 5pm. The class is suitable for all levels (and genders!) Who is coming to play? πŸ™ŒπŸ‘―
