I listened to sounds from searching winds curling around pine and juniper as alpine water crashed down granite canals along Pyramid Creek. A pair of darting birds called out as they flew past me. A thought struck me suddenly. The wilds are an eternal collective; always adapting and cooperating.
In this moment I had the entire trail to myself, and I could feel the immensity of the solitude. I allowed my thoughts to bathe in the calm created by this synthesis of nature's elements.
