Happy Birthday Bhatts. Stay honest and never let that smile fade. Rooting for ya to get a good job and buy even more cheap bottles of wine under the moonlight with an untuned guitar! :)

Some things never change. Good to be back, Prinsep! #beerloween

The first full match I watched Lee Chong Wei play was actually the 2008 Beijing Olympics Final, where LCW played against Lin Dan. The thrashing made me ponder - wasn’t LCW World Number 1? How could he get wrecked so badly by this LD? He must suck - either that, or he’s only good at being the Nominal Number 1 - raking up points from taking part in many competitions over the season. LD was the real No.1. That was 2008, just prior to the years where my love for the game grew nearly exponentially and I took some seriousness into my own training as a badminton player. The years that followed taught me how narrow and childish I was in my thinking back in 2008. LCW taught me about the latent burdens and psychological yokes everyone bore for themselves - not just in sports but in any capacity they held, anywhere. His head-to-heads with LD could not be watered down into mere statistics; the narrative behind each player was too crucial to omit in the analysis of who won which match and why. On 19 August, we watched LCW finally defeat LD in one of the greatest matches I had ever witnessed - not by skill, nor by competition prestige, but every lens I was opened up to in my growing up years with sports. On 20 august, we painfully - part confoundedly - watched LCW lose his greatest shot at Malaysia’s first Olympic Gold. I learnt a great deal about life during that match, really. I experienced a rush of complex emotions so great it would have sounded weirder if I said I did not shed any tears. And perhaps that’s why I still decided to jump into Badminton here in College. Glad to have spent my last event as an RS of the hostel hosting "Memory Jar", and being able to somewhat put a smile on people's faces.

Still can't believe that out of 40+ Resident Seniors, I was chosen to be "Resident Senior of the Year". I never even considered myself in the running for such an award. But, I guess if you do what you have to do well, it does pay off in the end. Truly grateful to everyone I've met in this journey as you all contributed in making me who I am today.

It has truly been a great experience to even be part of a team of people from varying backgrounds working together to accomplish something for others to enjoy. I will definitely miss this place.

P.S. Twinning with @raineannn and feeling like we're Ateneo High school students with our outfits.
