Before saying all the things I love about Serbia, I just want to share with you my findings walking through the cities. Art gems are hidden everywhere and anywhere all around this country. I haven’t experienced seeing so much art in just one place. It truly inspires me to keep looking forward for my ideals for an utopic world. I see a story in each of these graffitis, murals, and tags. Culturally, Serbians are very open and kind people. They believe a lot in hospitality and helping one another. The warmth I feel from Serbians reminds me a lot of being back home, how people act, laugh, discuss about life and philosophies, how they deal with things... As I keep moving I find that similar situations that come from Puerto Rico are happening in all around the world, however, Serbia has a lot of similarities of what’s happening with political, economical, environmental crisis likewise PR. Puertoricans however, not mattering how bad a situation can be we have the power to always be joyful and strong with one another. Serbians are the same. I admire cultures who are opened to understanding, know their history, love their people, and have knowledge in what happens in the local art movement.
It’s been amazing how in every corner there’s always something. On the floor of streets, garbage cans, post boxes, street signs, toilettes, building entrances. I strongly believe that a country who is very much into art, is a country who is more opened to other perspectives about life. You can also see this on how a civilization behaves. The less creative the culture, the closer people are...
