Meet Ken Ornstein, SFTV’s new head of production! Ken has won two Emmy awards and been nominated seven times for his work on Everybody Loves Raymond, as well as worked with directors such as Woody Allen, Mel Gibson and Kathryn Bigelow, just to name a few! We asked Ken some fun questions so you can get to know him a little better: • What has been one of your favorite projects to assistant direct? To UPM?
Working for Woody Allen as an assistant director was a big highlight for me. As far as Producing/UPM, I loved working on a TBS show called “My Boys,” and of course “Everybody Loves Raymond."
• What is your favorite part of LMU so far?
Talking to the students about films and filmmaking.
• What is the best advice anyone has ever given you?
“It’s nice to be important, but more important to be nice.”
• Do you have any preliminary advice to give students?
Accept all work offers, but don’t work for free.
• What is the most important thing you want students to know about you?
My door is always open for questions, advice or to talk about hockey.
