We’re two years into our Washington life. “Remember when you wanted what you have now.” It’s been a journey through loneliness, connection, fear, joy, anxiety, depression, hopelessness, and hope. And today I’m choosing gratitude for the foundation we’ve laid and the years to come.

Room with a view.

Everything is better with this one.

I've known this for quite awhile, but today I decided my dream life would be to own a pumpkin patch/apple tree farm/blueberry patch/Christmas tree farm. All my favorite family traditions rolled into one. Coming to a countryside, somewhere, 2025.

Secret garden doors reminding me there is still mystery to seek and hope in unexpected places.

White supremacy is real all the time, but it feels extra heavy this week: Trumps threatening to pull aid from Puerto Rico, threatening to unravel Obamacare, Charlottesville terrorists being allowed to cause terror-again, Harvey Weinstein not being labeled a sexual predator by all. If y'all know of good groups who are doing good work on the ground, feel free to comment. #whitesupremacykills #smashthepatriarchy

Fall foliage.

My favorite flowers: self-care. #dahlias

Dear friends with mental illness, we got this, one day at a time, moment by moment. I need you, and I'm here for you. ❤

I should be reading the dsm about bipolar disorder for class.. but instead im watching #ladydynamite with #mariabamford. I'd rather learn from people than a book...right? ❤

See the water and sun through the trees? Hope may be elusive at times, but it is there and we can find it. Today is national suicide prevention day. Suicide is something I often don't hear people talk about until it has occurred, but people you know, maybe even you, struggle with suicidal ideation, hopelessness, and despair everyday. The secrecy of suicide increases the stigma. You don't have to be "fine," it's ok to feel broken and messy, we need each other to survive. I know sometimes just getting out of bed is a success and that asking for help is hard. Many people are fighting just to stay alive. If you're one of those people and don't feel like you have anyone who understands, feel free to reach out, I've known what it is to be in despair and without hope. Or reach out to a crisis line: 1-800-273-8255.
We need you here. You are irreplaceable.
