My favorite kind of brunch! 😍
Fried eggs with goat cheese, plantains, @butcher_box breakfast sausage & bacon, arugula annnnd avocado that Shadow already claimed. 😂

My first time getting this!! My husband is always the one to help get me outta my own head, with a lotta support, and a good dose of the best kind of tough love. 😜

This challenge seemed sooo simple at first, until I got on it and my mind went straight to fear as I went to grab that banana wayyy up top. This was my 5th attempt, when I finally gave it 100% and got it! Then Mike got up there and made it look as easy as I thought it was. 🙌🏼 Happy Valentines Day, loves! #kristenxninja #challengeyoselfthursday #apexnorcal

I used to DREAD working out. I only went to the gym because I thought that’s what I needed to do to be healthy, but I quickly became so bored with doing the same routine over and over.
Then everything shifted for me. Before my last surgery, I went into it knowing that on the other side I would become the strongest and healthiest version of me possible. I realized that since movement is what helps to keep me feeling great, I absolutely had to find a way to love my workouts, or else I would have never stick with them.
On my website today I’m sharing my journey of how I learned how to absolutely LOVE my workouts so that I now look forward to them - and all of my best advice so that you can do the same, along with the importance of not over-training (cause that’s easy to do too)!
When you love your workouts, muscles & strength just become the bonus of your efforts! If we’ve only got this one life, why not learn to love your workouts too?! Link on my profile for this post! 💪🏼

It’s cold & rainy here, which has got me craving a warm piece of my cinnamon roll bread! This bread is grain-free, dairy-free, and made with rainbows & sunshine. 🤗

This is so perfect for Valentine’s Day, or anytime, and it’s the EASIEST to make! All of the flavors of a cinnamon roll without any of the work. 🙌🏼 Get the recipe through the link on my profile!

After pretty much the most incredible & eye opening appointment with my functional medicine practitioner today @theremedymartinez, this sums up exactly what’s been on my mind since. It took me a LONG time to learn to love my past and be grateful for having Crohn’s. To me, none of this is about being perfect, it’s all about just the willingness to show up. ❤️ 📸 PC thanks to the wonderful @jayshetty

I have soooo much fun training with my hubby! Getting a lil stronger each day! 💪🏼 #kristenxninja

When I was 12 years old, I went from taking zero medications to suddenly needing to take 96 pills a week. The world of medications, hospitals, doctors, and dreadful tests, quickly became all that I knew.

In my 20’s, this was my bin filled with the prescription meds that I took, in order to keep my Crohn’s in remission, as well as combat the side effects of other medications... and this wasn’t even including the weekly injections that I got as well.

While I’m all about the woo these days, and I love me some crystals and herbs, I hear far too often from readers who are beating themselves up for needing to take prescribed meds.

Some of these medications came with incredibly TOUGH side effects, and while it would be easy to blame them or hate them, I instead realize the true value that they hold.

These medications are why I’m here today. They serve a purpose, and they were there when I needed them the most. I straight up wouldn’t be alive without them.

After 19 years of being on every single medication that was ever created for Crohn’s, I no longer need to take any meds, but I understand the vital role that they can play, and how they save lives every single day.

It’s a balance, and part of the reason that I LOVE functional medicine, is because they fully understand how to create the balance. These days, herbs & supplements are my first line of defense, and they work incredibly well for me, but it took me time to get here.

Maybe herbs work for you too, but maybe they don’t right now. Maybe changing your diet makes all the difference, or maybe isn’t quite enough. Either way, it’s okay, and there’s no need to beat yourself up. You know your body better than anyone, and always rememeber that your current situation is not your final destination. 😘 #crohnsdisease #autoimmunedisease #adrenalinsufficiency #healthiseverything

How to know if your cocktail is gluten-free! After sharing this cocktail on my stories the other night (vodka, ginger, lime & soda water), I received tons of questions about which vodka I drink, and how I know if it’s gf.
While all distilled alcohol is typically considered gf due to the processing that it goes through, I still take pre-caution, as I don’t believe that it’s always gluten that’s the actual issue for me.
The name of the vodka traditionally used to make this drink is called Wheatley, which was a pretty big clue that it’s made from wheat. 😂
I simply googled the other vodkas on the menu to find one that was made from a non-wheat source, and I asked the server to use that one instead (Blair & Boyd - made using potatoes).
Googling “is ____ gluten-free” will get you a quick answer when it comes to alcohol, or just about anything else!
Silver tequila (Patron or Don Julio) is typically my go to (with soda water and lots of lime), but this drink was so good! What’s your favorite cocktail?🍹

Years ago, I used to go to the gym to lift weights and do cardio, simply because it’s what I thought I “should” be doing to stay healthy. It didn’t take long for me to get soooo bored with doing the same old thing over and over, not knowing what to do next.
Once I started thinking outside of the box and I found what types of movement make me feel amazing, everything changed!
Now, I LOVE my workouts, and they help to make me both physically and mentally strong.
If you dread working out, or it doesn’t totally light you up, then this new series of posts is for you - starting with this one all about my current training routine! My next two blog posts (coming this weekend) will be all about how to get started with working out, and how to LOVE your workouts! SO excited to share this with you.
