Autumn walks 🍂

Happy Monday! Hope everyone has a great week😊🍂

Have you been to Chefs & Shows at @gctclive? I went last night and loved it! Renowned Chefs are tasked with cresting a menu inspired by the play they are paired with. Last nights show paired Chef Joe Thottungal of @coconutlagoonrestuant with the play Ordinary Days. It was my first time enjoying this chefs food and my taste buds were in heaven. From the tandoori grilled tiger shrimps to chicken curry, I loved every last bite! He chose colourful and flavourful dishes to describe NYC, where the play takes place. The signature cocktail was of course, a Manhattan. After dinner we headed into the theatre and the show began. The play was a musical that followed the lives of four people in NYC. It shows how their lives intertwine and explores the theme of appreciating the simple things in complex situations. All the actors conveyed so much emotion as they showed the highs and lows of their stories in NYC. If you’ve seen the play, I would love to hear what you think 😊 The upcoming Chefs & Shows are Dec. 5th with Tim Stock of @playfoodwine, Jan 23 with Steve Wall of @supply_ottawa, March 13 with Michael Blackie of NeXT and May 1 with Chris Deraiche of the @thewellie. It’s a great Christmas present idea, date night, or night with friends! Tag someone you want to go with 😍

I don’t share too many personal stories on here and try and keep things light and positive! Don’t worry, this story has a good ending! Two years ago I was stopped at a red light when I was rear-ended quite badly by a car that didn’t stop. I instantly suffered whiplash and two discs in my neck shifted. It’s been a long road to recovery but slowly but surely I’m getting better. There were days when I was in so much pain I couldn’t do simple tasks like groceries, wash dishes, and one of the things I love the most.... photo walks, to get shots like this! I’ve always been an active person and I refused to accept that I would stay in pain forever. I was finally matched with a good physiotherapist in February and I’ve been working hard to get back to where I was. Exercise since had been a worry in case I aggravated my injury but I found success at @tdmottawa in the glebe! A seller for me was their emphasis on alignment, essential to preventing injury! I fell in love with their barre and have never experienced pain in any of their classes. Whether you’re looking to get back into fitness, stay healthy, tone your muscles, or get stronger, this is the place to go! I would recommend this place to anyone! I did a recap of my fitness journey and Dailey Method classes on my blog, link in bio! If you have any questions feel free to comment below ☺️

🎃 New blog is up and it’s all about spooky and festive things you can do in Ottawa to celebrate Halloween 👻 Link in bio for the full list! These shots are from Pumpkin Inferno at @uppercanadavill! Walk through the grounds and you’ll see over 7000 hand carved and illuminated pumpkins! I was blown away by the creations! The dragon (second photo) was crazy to see in person! Can you believe it’s made up of pumpkins?! They have everything from hockey figures, coins of the world, Mona Lisa and more! This is a great outdoor Halloween activity to get you feeling festive! It’s only an hour drive away from Ottawa and definitely worth it when you see all the pumpkins in person! I suggest heading there early and printing out your ticket ahead of time so you get in asap! Tag someone you want to go with 🎃😊
