Glória Funicular was created in the late 19th Century to link Baixa to Bairro Alto. In 2013 a cycling competion was held in here, "Subida à Glória" consisted in riding a bicycle up the Glória street, the person that would get to the top first would win. The winner took only 39 seconds to reach Bairro Alto🏆🚲 #lisbonscape🌇

Tip of the Week: Panorâmico de Monsanto is a former restaurant very popular in the end of the 20th Century that got bankrupt and then abandoned after being used for other purposes. After several years of being closed to the public, it reopened as a viewpoint where you can get a bird's eye view over Lisbon's landscape including the Tagus river, the Saint George's Castle and the Aqueduct of the Free Waters. There's also a panel of tiles that represents Lisbon before the earthquake of 1755 #lisbonscape🌇
