The Witching Hour Challenge - Guide - Day 21 to 25
🔮
Hey everyone, believe it or not, this is the 2nd to last guide for the challenge. If any of these prompts call to you, grab a deck and join. Be sure to check out the hashtags #theoctobertarot and #thewitchinghourchallenge to see what others have posted.
🎴
Day 21 - The Veil spread {depicted}
The Veil is the barrier between our world and the spirit world. The Veil is thinnest on May 1st and November 1st. We can use this special time to strengthen our connection to the other worlds. This can be the best time to connect with our ancestors, guardians, guides, gods and goddesses.
🎴
Day 22
Write down something you want to welcome into your life. Draw a card in answer to your writing.
🎴
Day 23
Write down what no longer serves you. During the Full Moon part with it by burning your note.
🎴
Day 24 - Full Moon in Taurus spread
Draw 3 cards, one for each question:
What is being highlighted/exposed for me right now?
How do I make the most of this Full Moon energy?
Where should I remain grounded between now and Samhain?
🎴
Day 25 - Honoring the Dead
Today, in contrast to day 21 we will focus on one passed on relative. You can do this by holding your relative in your mind while you shuffle or by holding a picture or item of the relative within reach. While embracing the energy of this relative, shuffle and draw.

Day 18 of the Witching Hour Challenge
The Craft Spread {see slide 2 for the spread}
🔮
Today's spread is inspired by the opening scene from the movie The Craft:
"Now is the time. This is the hour. Ours is the magic. Ours is the power. Now is the time. This is the hour. Ours is the magic. Ours is the power."
Feel free to join in if you want to do this spread for yourself.
🌌
I drew the following cards:
Now is the time - Four of Cups
This is the hour - Prince of Swords
This is the magic - Eight of Cups
This is the power - Ten of Pentacles
🎴
The Witches Tarot somewhat moves away from standard RWS interpretations. These cards speak of a time to expand emotions or to devote to certain feelings. Likely you have already set your mind to something or you have a strong feeling of where to take this. When the mind and heart do not agree, we experience chaos, sadness or stress, align both and move forward more balanced. You have it within you to create yourself what you so much desire. Both for you as well as for those you love.

Day 17 of the Witching Hour Challenge
Leota's Fortune
"What will it take? It’s time to respond. Send me a message, from somewhere beyond."
🔮
After so many posts with the Megamunden Tattoo Tarot by other tribe members I finally caved in. Thanks enablers. I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'll take responsibility. Anyway, although this is technically a pip deck, I feel it still holds enough detail in the pip cards to keep them easy to read. On to my day 17 reading.

"Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come." ~Robert H. Schuller
🎴
Firstly @deepseamercury thanks for the mini reading earlier today. It was well in line with my own reading for today. My "somewhere beyond" sent me the Ace of Swords. And while I appreciate the ancestral gesture {thanks Grandma}, I'm thinking any decision made in my current state isn't wise to pursuit. It is best to wait until after the Venus Rx smoke clears up so I have a good overview of what is left on the field ahead of me and what trail I've left behind.

Day 15 & 16 of the Witching Hour Challenge
Select two cards representing two sides of you & Just for a day use any other divination tools you own.
🎴
I ended up selecting The Hermit and the King of Wands and used my #elderfuthark runes for feedback about each side. I drew Mannaz and Othala.
🗨
"The power for creating a better future is contained in the present moment: You create a good future by creating a good present." ~@eckharttolle

Mannaz
Rune of the Divine structure of intelligence in the human soul or psyche. Rune of the horizons of human existence and collective potential.

Othala
Rune of anscetral spiritual power, Divine inheritance and earthly estate. Othala deals with matters of inheritance and ancestry and is a rune of wealth.
🔮
Picking The Hermit to represent one side of me probably doesn't come as a surprise to anyone who has been following me for a while. I could have gone with some other options for my second card, but the King of Wands is a well balanced representation of how I interact with the world. My more reserved introvert side always thinking, learning, and observing. My extrovert side benefiting from what I learn with creating something positive or useful for those around me. The runes seem to empower these sides. Stating that what I do in my Hermit time, is in support of the greater good and that what I share isn't just my knowledge or understanding but that of my ancestral bloodline, carried over from generation to generation.

The Witching Hour Challenge - Guide - Day 16 to 20
🔮
Hey everyone, this is the 4th guide for the Witching Hour Challenge, this guide includes a Madame Leota prompt and a prompt based on a spell used in The Craft. If any of these prompts call to you, grab a deck and join. Be sure to check out the hashtags #theoctobertarot and #thewitchinghourchallenge to see what others have posted.
🎴
Day 16 - Switch it up
Just for a day use any other divination tools you own. Use them to their strength or for a current energy reading. This prompt is optional, so if for instance you only use Tarot or Oracle cards, you can do a card of the day draw.
🎴
Day 17 - Leota's Fortune
"What will it take? It’s time to respond. Send me a message, from somewhere beyond."
This prompt is based on Madame Leota from Disney's Haunted Mansion Seance.
You can either do today's draw with one card for the full spell/prompt or you can break up the spell/prompt into parts and draw multiple cards as you see fit.
🎴
Day 18 - The Craft {depicted}
I had to include one of my favorite witchy movies in this challenge. The idea of today's prompt is to learn or practice how you can read the story in front of you with minimal input. What are the cards telling you? How does it all make sense together?
🎴
Day 19 and 20 are break days.
🎴
What divination tools are you using for day 16? And what were your results for day 17 or 18? Let me know in the comment section below.

Day 14 of the Witching Hour Challenge
#HalloweenFavorites
🎃
Halloween for me is a time where I watch a lot of my favorite witchy and scary movies. Some {Burton, Del Toro} I watch every single year, others less frequent.
🎃
Not so much a scary story, but definitely one of magick, is how my daughters announced themselves to me before they were born. Months before we knew of the pregnancy they had come to me in a dream, or vision if you may {I've only had two visions in my life}. The vision was so clear that, not only did I know I would be a father of twin daughters, but I knew exactly what they were going to look like. Yet still, when we were called in for the first sonogram I had my fingers crossed hoping that what I had dreamt was true. I was 22. They first found one heart, and then soon after, to surprise of the nurse, the second heart. I sat there with the biggest smile on my face, I knew it was them. They were born on the 22nd in the year 2002. My life path number, is 22. My daughters have always been my biggest motivation to try harder, to do better, to be the best dad I can be. I ended up raising them alone {with help of my sisters and my mother}. They have always had something magickal surrounding them, our bond is truly special. I could tell a million more stories about my family, in particular, my mother, and how deep she has been and still is connected to the beyond, but I'll save those stories for another time.
🎴
The cards I ended up drawing were the 2 of Pentacles and the 2 of Wands. 2 - 2. Why does that not surprise me. The Haunted card depicted is from the Theta Wave Oracle by @leonagravespsy and @womanofwands. The other two cards are from the Haunted House Tarot by @loscarabeotarot.

Day 13 of the Witching Hour Challenge
Luck be mine, cards let me see, what can I expect, of this day, for me?
🌞
I'm out and about in downtown Gouda with my girls. It's extremely summery weather for October out here in Holland. We plan to binge the new @netflix show The Haunting of Hill House when we get home.
🏰
For today's prompt I drew L'Imperatrice and the rune Sowilo {Sun}. I saw this combination as advice to go Muse outside a little. Visiting history rich cities inspire me a lot, and even though I grew up in Gouda, there is always something new to discover.

Day 11 of the Witching Hour Challenge
What ye send forth comes back to thee, So ever mind the Rule of Three.
🌌
"If you want to ask one question, ask yourself, what are you giving to the Universe and only that will be returned." ~Amit Ray
🌌
"Listen to the words you say. The very words you say to them are the very words you need to hear. Humans tend to give each other what they themselves need. So tell them these important things and then turn around and tell them to your very own heart."
~Kate McGahan
🦁
My personal draws:
The Six of Rods, I feel, speaks of the energy I put into Lionharts every single day, it has been a labor of love for quite some time now. And although I'm not fond of much up close and personal contact, something that has been a theme to work on, I do truly enjoy guiding and teaching.
🎴
Completely in theme with the Rule of Three, my Ellis Deck gave me back three cards {3 stacked jumpers}: The Emperor, Justice and the Nine of Pentacles. These cards speak of honest work and devotion paying off in the most fair way. And this is definitely how things have been feeling for me with Lionharts.

The Witching Hour Challenge - Guide - Day 11 to 15
🔮
Hey everyone, this is the 3rd guide for the Witching Hour Challenge. Similar to earlier prompts, if any of these prompts call to you, grab a deck and join. Be sure to check out the hashtags #theoctobertarot and #thewitchinghourchallenge to see what others have posted.
🎴
Day 11 - The Rule of Three
What ye send out {card 1}, comes back to thee {card 2} {depicted}.
The Rule of Three states that whatever energy a person puts out into the world, be it positive or negative, will be returned to that person three times. This could also be about thought versus energy returned, or about action versus reaction. Keep in mind that a good action can't always save a bad situation.
🎴
Day 12
What active energy is draining me {card 1}? How do I change this to something empowering {card 2}?
This prompt is inspired by Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice. Draw two cards as described in the prompts. You might feel called to draw more cards to answer the second question, follow your intuition here.
🎴
Day 13
Luck be mine, cards let me see, what can I expect, of this day, for me?
With this simple spell we ask the cards what we can expect of today. You only have to draw one card in answer to the prompt. If the card you have drawn isn't clear enough, draw one more card in answer to "How do I best deal with today?" or more positively "How do I make the most of today?".
🎴
Day 14 - #HalloweenFavorites
Today gives you a chance to share your favorite scary - or - witchy stories. These could be from books, shows, movies, games or even from your own experience. Optional: Select one story (or experience) that made a big impact on you and draw a card in answer to: "How has this story influenced/impacted my path/life?".
🎴
Day 15
Select two cards representing two sides of you. These could be your birth cards, or two cards you just strongly resonate with, or if you don't want to select any, just draw two cards to represent two sides. Place both cards on the table. Now draw a card of advice for each side. What do the cards have to say about each side?

Day 9 of the Witching Hour Challenge
#WitchyVibes
🔮
Today gives you a chance to show your Witchy items/tools. You could showcase the tools you frequently work with, or take a photo of your current altar, you could also post something that gives you witchy vibes. Feel free to join in if you haven't been joining the challenge.
🦁
While I was setting up my table for some pictures my mind drifted off. Somewhere winter last year, I was waiting for the subway to arrive, when a little girl pulled me at my sleeve. Looking down I saw her big eyes look up at me, she couldn't have been older than 7. By the looks of it she had wandered off, her group of classmates and her teacher were standing about 10 feet away from me. "Are you a shanamanam?" she asked me. It made me laugh. I tend to wear long trenchcoats and big scarfs in winter, and being mixed I get she couldn't quite place me anywhere familiar other than what she imagined a shanamanam looks like. "Can you do magic?" she asked me as her eyes grew bigger. I kneeled down "I don't know, can you?" she nodded. Her teacher spotted her, called her back and after a "Bye mister!" she ran back to her group.
🌌
It's so cute how kids have such a rich imagination. We lose a big part of that, growing up, get conditioned to be a certain way, get taught that being different is weird. Fortunately some of us recapture that free thinking, that believing in more, embrace the non restrictive live and let live.
