Edit: I somehow managed to delete my original interpretation waking up. So unfortunately the original story is lost. Here goes take 2.

Today in the July Tarot challenge we are asked to read two cards based on what we see only. I added this to the challenge to stimulate practicing your visual senses reading imagery.

We see a creepy old man observing a mother looking after her winged little angels. But let's take a closer look.

The old man in The Hermit picture is looking at the scene across in The Empress card with intense focus. He is holding up an hourglass instead of a lantern. On his back we see this man has black wings. A scythe is resting against him in his right hand. This man is Chronos. Without using his mythological meaning you can tell this man is about time and the importance of time. He symbolises he can give and he can take. The woman in the Empress card is a depiction of Venus and her children Cupid and Psyche. We see two white doves near her feet. Everything in this picture expresses nurture, care and love.

Time is precious. Everything comes and goes with time. This puts emphasis on the importance of living in the moment and embracing the things we love. The meaning of these two cards combined is perhaps best summarised with this quote:

Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored. ~Earl Nightingale

I think you need to go through some stuff to really appreciate life and understand what it means to persevere, overcome and have faith. I think those tough times make you a stronger person. ~Judith Hill
🦁
Today's prompt in the July Tarot challenge asks to pull a card to advise yourself today. I drew the Strength card with the King of Wands and the Two of Cups as clarifier cards.
🦁
The combination of these cards asks to believe in your own strengths as well as the strength of your relationship or in other words the strong bond between yourself and someone else {usually your significant other}. To have courage, to remain patient and to show compassion. To focus on what you need to do, and go about it in a way that demonstrates great composure and maturity.
🦁
Whenever you are having a hard time, a bad day or a phase of depression, remember that the hard moments are what makes you stronger. You have everything inside of you to get past the harder times in life. Believe in this and you shall overcome.

Morning meditation.
🙏
Meditation is the discovery that the point of life is always arrived at in the immediate moment.
🙏
You should not be carried away by the dictation of the mind, but the mind should be carried by your dictation.
🙏
Meditation practice isn’t about trying to throw ourselves away and become something better, it’s about befriending who we are.

Adolescents are not monsters. They are just people trying to learn how to make it among the adults in the world, who are probably not so sure themselves. ~Virginia Satir
🌌
Today for the July Tarot challenge we are asked to pull a card for our teenage self. I pulled the Ten of Cups. The other two cards are for self clarification.
🌌
My childhood wasn't an easy one. Poverty, abuse, parental divorce, a lot of moving, the many nights I sat outside on my own trying to make sense of it all. So much more. I'm not going to go into detail about it all. It's too personal.
🌌
Despite everything I was a popular kid in high school. The one you would find in the back of the class not paying attention much, that is, if I showed up at all. The mysterious loner. I was too busy trying to figure out more important stuff. My Sony Walkman always near with the latest radio hits recorded over my stepdad his Elvis tapes.
🌌
I was a difficult kid, angry at the world for all the nonsense I felt I shouldn't be in. But even at the worst moments in my life, I still had a choice in how to deal. I carried my problems and didn't make them anyone else's. No one knew. But it did make me angry, sad, frustrated, you name it. Not able to see any of the good. Looking back I have come a long way.
🌌
If there is anything I can tell my teen self it is to brighten up. Life isn't half as bad as it feels. You are going to be ok. The pain, the suffering, it made me who I am today. A loving father and a caring man to my other half. Perhaps it is because I always lacked a happy family that these things are so important to me now. I don't know. Yes this is as open as I will get about my childhood.
🌌

You are not a small and unimportant creature confined to the form of this physical body, contrary to popular belief. At the core of your being you are pure awareness, and this awareness is the same source from which everything in the Universe arises, exists as, and returns to. Consciousness is the dimension of yourself that you have forgotten you are, and of which you long to return to.

Today in the July Tarot challenge we ask our cards for something we should know about our plans.

My Prisma Visions deck gave me the Ten of Wands opposed or influenced by Two of Chalices Rx with the Queen of Wands as a solution.

The Ten of Wands indicates that something may currently feel like a burden, a lot of hard work or just stress. Two of Chalices {Cups} is a card about relationships and partnerships, but the relationships can also be your job for instance. Reversed it indicates a lack of harmony. The solution is found in the Queen of Wands. She represents an approach showing emotional understanding, warmth and determination.

In any relationship situation, be it work, friendship or love, when the going gets tough it can be hard to remain open and understanding. The initial reaction is often one from the ego: This does this to me or this made me feel this way. And so now I can't do this or that because I'm hurt or upset. But what about the other side of the story. What triggered it in the first place. Problems have two sides and so they require two sides and the willingness to understand to bridge them.

Any fool can know. The point is to understand {Einstein}. Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery {Rowling}.

The homes of some of my favorite decks. I plan to buy more of these but I don't want two of the same.

It's time for part II of the July Tarot challenge. Today we do a week ahead reading to see what energy we can work with or what we will be facing this week.

My Pagan Otherworlds deck gave me the King of Pentacles, the Six of Swords and Justice.

The King of Pentacles likes to take care of others through providing advice, guidance and wisdom. The Six of Swords is about transition. About heading towards a better place in life. The Justice card indicates a time when decision-making is required.

Combined, these cards show that this week will be about making choices for the long term future. The King of Pentacles tells you that the choices made will be for the best possible future. The Six of Swords may indicate that these aren't easy choices, but hard choices are often only hard at times where we are holding on to things that actually hurt us. Justice asks you to balance out your options. To look at each option with a fair and open mind and to pursuit your choices with an honest heart.

Visually the Justice card show a lady of Justice ready to fight for what she believes is fair or right. The King of Pentacles, although wealthy, doesn't look particularly happy indicating the necessity of making these choices. The Six of Swords depicts an empty boat showing that we are not fully on board yet accepting it is time move past or beyond the things that are holding us back. Time to move past your fears or insecurities.

I've learned that fear limits you and your vision. It serves as blinders to what may be just a few steps down the road for you. The journey is valuable, but believing in your talents, your abilities, and your self-worth can empower you to walk down an even brighter path. Transforming fear into freedom - how great is that? ~Soledad O'Brien

Creation day for me.
🔥
Just finished making my own Mala. It has Tiger's Eye for sharpness of inner vision and for better understanding the cause and effect of each situation. Black Moonstone for enhanced intuition, inspiration and inner knowing and Lava Stone to remain grounded and calm.
🎴
I'm using the rest of the afternoon to casually create #theaugusttarot challenge and to prepare for my birthday giveaway.
🎶
I watched The Defiant Ones last night, a documentary about Jimmy Lovine and Dr. Dre and it really got me in the mood to dig up some old Hip Hop albums to listen to today {I am a very eclectic guy}.

Back to creation here. I will post my #thejulytarot challenge reading at the end of the day.
🙏

For today's prompt in the July Tarot challenge I decided I would give my The Fountain Tarot deck another chance.
🌊
The cards are supposed to reveal your surface versus your deep waters.
🌊
The Five of Cups, Two of Swords and Two of Coins quite literally depict what goes on at the surface, above the water. These cards are balanced by the Ace of Swords representing my deep waters.
🌊
I interpret this as wherever we deal with problems and choices, even when they appear to be a juggle or a toss up, we tend to know what we really want or what is good for us. The problem often is we cloud the obvious way with overthinking.
🌊
Sometimes this overthinking is caused by being scared to let go of what is comfortable or familiar when we have no security of what is out there, beyond the comfort zone. But truth is, nobody knows what is out there, what is one day ahead of us, what is beyond the status quo. Whenever choices are to be made listen to your Ace of Swords. That voice inside you, clear from all the noise, it will tell you what to do.
🌊
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. ~Steve Jobs

Back with another #caturday
weekend reading for the collective.
😸
These readings are written for those who resonate with them. So if you feel this energy suits you, it can be a good idea to work with it.
😺
We are entering a weekend to manifest some of our great ideas in the form of investing in them with love. The Page of Pentacles speaks of dreams and the desire to manifest those dreams in the material world. What has been on your mind in the days leading up to this weekend in the area of creative projects or things you wanted to do for yourself? Things you are passionate about.
😼
The Ace of Wands speaks of the huge potential of your ideas, hopes and dreams. So sharpen those claws and use your creative energy and passion to take steps and get this idea or dream going. Even if you like to have everything planned out, the Ace of Wands is encouraging you to listen to your instincts and follow your gut, just begin. These are fertile times.
😻
The Empress reminds you to stay or get in touch with your passions through taste, touch, sound, smell and sight. Draw on these senses to experience pleasure and deep fulfilment this weekend. Often when we create or work on the things we truly love we get in a Zen like state where everything just seems to flow. This state is nurturing for our health and wellbeing. Be all in this weekend and truly experience the passions come to life. No matter what you do this weekend do it with love.
🐱
As a personal tip try and keep distractions away from the process, put your device on silence or in another room, or just turn it off completely. Distraction is one of the biggest flow killers. Allow yourself the space to work on yourself and your ideas.
😺
We've got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can't just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it's going to get on by itself. You've got to keep watering it. You've got to really look after it and nurture it. ~John Lennon
