Career Services Tip of the Week:
3 Tips for Interviewing
Get there early.
Make sure you drive to the location before going the day of your interview. Know the time it will take to commute there, find your parking options and make sure you know the right building or wing. The day of the interview, make sure you leave in plenty of time to get there, not just on time, but early.
Spend Time Studying the Business
Most companies have a website with plenty of background information about the founders, company history and mission statement. Spend time reading through it, and figure out where you would fit into the company. Be able to speak to your research. Knowledge is power, it shows you care.
Come with your Materials
Bring along multiple copies of your resume, along with a list of your references, portfolio or any other material pertaining to the job. You want to be prepared if they ask for any of them. You may have already sent your resume in an email, but emails are easily deleted, and your interviewer may not have had time to print it.
