Yearly affair with this bunch of bbs. Thanks @amadeusx23 for hosting again, and I should have touched @carrintiangz's shoulders! Hopefully, next meet up can be a full-blown one with mahjong sessions and all!

One can get lost in Osaka, Japan. The popular commercial centre is a maze of crowded streets and narrow alleys where even the well-prepared would crane their neck trying to find their bearings mid-street. But for all of its overtly bright visuals and unorthodox buildings, the streets of Osaka is anything short of entertaining. .

Throwback to colder and better times, alone yet not lost. (Can someone hire me to write something? #penforhire)

Japanese are known to be shy. But trust me, they aren't. Reserved? Maybe. Warm? Definitely. I learnt that as I mustered my courage to speak to a random couple in traditional kimono/yukata. Along the way, I found myself struggling to understand what they shared. The couple must have sensed it and they slowed down, mixing in one or two English phrases.
But my linguistic dexterity hadn't completely left me. Somewhere along the exchange, I heard the word, 'Kekkon-suru' and I knew where this was going. 'Kekkon-suru' means to marry in Japanese. The guy had proposed and the couple is getting married.

I'm back in Singapore, listless and slightly excited. College is finally starting and I foresee myself placing my camera and passport into the storage. Japan continues to haunt me. It's different from anywhere else in the world. Japan has a way of imprinting itself onto your bones and altering your believes. I may be back in Singapore, but my heart resides in Japan.
