WINTER PALETTE | I’ve been in hibernation mode lately, avoiding the cold and working feverishly on a big update for Style Bee but I’m still around!

I did manage to get out for a little trip to Montreal and had a chance to visit so many great studios and boutiques. The city is full of creativity!

I picked up this belt from @atelierbmtl and have been wearing it non-stop. It was made right on site and I loved the clean design and that the leather is lightweight, so it does the job without adding any bulk. At just $40 CAD it was the perfect option to check off of my wish list!
Definitely check out this 🇨🇦 made brand! @atelierbmtl also has men’s and kiddos collections too.
Happy Friday and stay cozy everyone!

I hope you’re having a good week! This is a little #shelfie of some small but meaningful treasures we’ve collected over the years. A giant feather found in Algonquin on the wknd we got engaged, little vessels from a market in Antibes, beeswax candles from a local farm and a vase by Canadian ceramicist/artist Rachel Saunders (my fave) just to name a few.
One day I’d love to fill the whole shelf with sculptural vases and dried greenery (that eucalyptus is going on 2 yrs 🌿). But for now it’s home to a hodge-podge of artifacts that each hold a little memory.
Hoping to add a few more this year! | #stylebeehome

Happy New Year friends! I hope everyone’s 2019 is off to a good start.
I’ve been slowly getting back into work mode, taking some time to reflect on last year and steer my plans for this one.
My goals right now are simply to get up earlier ⏰(so far so good thanks to jet lag), read more 📚(well, listen more since I love Audible) and make time for creative pursuits outside of my work 🎨. Those will involve picking up my paint brush for the first time since uni and leaning into my love for interior design!
What are some of your simple (or maybe not so simple) goals for 2019? I’d love to hear about them!

Well friends, it’s about time to sign off for 2018! The final post of the year is on the blog and I’m sharing a look back at my closet mission, a few highs and lows, my top take away from the year and a note to my readers. ✨ It’s been one for the books indeed! I’m ready to rest and recharge before welcoming 2019 in with open arms.

THANK YOU for being here! Your support has been truly life changing over this last year and I couldn’t do what I love without you!
Wishing you & yours a wonderful holiday season and all the best for 2019! 💫

Ps. I’ll be quiet on the blog and here for a few weeks but I’ll be popping in on my stories. Catch you again soon! ❤️ | #stylebeeblog #stylebeehome

Today on the blog I’m sharing a true closet classic, the cable knit fisher’s sweater. And of course, a few ways to wear one! (Swipe through to see more)

When I started writing the post I realized I didn’t know much about the origins of the style so I did a little digging. Did you know certain fisher stitch patterns have a traditional meaning? I didn’t! For instance the honeycomb stitch is meant to symbolize a hard-working bee (oh hello!). The cable, an integral part of the fisher’s daily life, points to a wish for safety and good luck when fishing, just as the diamond is a nod toward success, wealth and treasure. How neat is that?
This particular sweater was gifted for me to try by my pals at @tradlands (#stylebeepartner) and I’m sharing my thoughts on it plus a simple style formula, 3 winter looks and a special 20% Off discount. All in the post!

What are your favourite gifts to give?
For the last few years I’ve been giving my parents each a custom calendar (from @artifactuprising who sells lovely refillable brass stands!) of my favourite foliage and floral photos from the year. Each moth features an in season bloom or a special memory from that month.
They keep them out around the house and it’s nice to know that even if I can’t visit as much as I’d like, a little part of me is always there.
This image is going to be in my Mum’s calendar and it’s of the peonies that grow in our front garden 🌿. Not exactly seasonal but I know I never mind a peony pic ☺️| #stylebeetextures #artifactuprising #vsco #vscocam #peonies #notsponsored

This little fur butt has been crashing my shoots lately and I don’t mind one bit ☺️ I adopted Evie in 2009 before I met Dave and I can’t believe next year marks our 10 year anniversary!
Despite the fact it was just us girls in the beginning she usually withholds all affection from me and won’t leave Dave alone for one second when he gets home. She’s such a little floozy for the boys 😆. Do you have a fur pal in your life? Tell me about them! Oh and Evie has her own hashtag #everzini 😸 Just in case you thought I wasn’t a #crazycatlady
Ps. This is one of three easy holiday looks on the blog! Catch them all via my profile or ‘On the Blog’ highlight. | #stylebeeblog

There’s a super special giveaway extravaganza happening over on the blog today! I’ve teamed up with my blogger pal @andrea_hartman_ to give TWO lucky winners gift cards to a few of our favourite responsible brands (tagged above)! The goal for this collaboration was to say THANK YOU for reading and for your support this year. We also wanted to share some responsible style love and give the winners a little closet boost for 2019!
If you’re interested you can visit my blog to enter (it’s so easy!) and be sure to double your chances by entering on Andrea’s blog Seasons + Salt too! GOOD LUCK!! Link is in my bio and stories. | #stylebeeblog

#sponsored | Today on the blog I’ve partnered with @eileenfisherny to share how I’m making space to be more present for what really matters this holiday season. One of the ways I’m making space is by putting comfort first. Instead of trying to up the ante on my festive style I’m toning it down this year, repeating outfits and sticking to wearable pieces I can mix into lots of looks. In the post I show how I’m styling a closet staple, the Long Shell (which I’ve had for almost 2 years), into 3 easy holiday looks! Plus, one of my furry pals makes a special appearance. | How are you going about your holiday style this year? Glamming it up or playing it cool? There’s no wrong answer! | See my stories for a link to the post and you can shop the Long Shell via liketoknow.it. | #stylebeeblog #eileenfisherny #stylebeepartner | http://liketk.it/2yNft #liketkit @liketoknow.it

Happy Friday! Since Dave and I won’t be home for much of the holidays we got a mini tree to save room and up-keep and I’m loving this little fella! It’s made this corner feel so special and cozy. Plus, we didn’t have to buy any more ornaments since it’s so small 😆 but I do still need to find a vintage 🌟 topper for it!🎄✨ | #stylebeehome

Here’s a cozy number to kick off the week! What are your winter closet heroes?
These wool Clyde’s have been in my closet for a few years now and I can’t imagine doing a winter without them. They’ve gotten softer and warmer with every year too. Same goes for this long cardigan (bought last fall) and all the knitted toques (that’s Canadian for beanie 😋) that keep my noggin’ toasty! | #stylebeeblog

I look forward to sleeping in all week but then when the wknd arrives I can’t wait to get up, make ☕️ and head out for fresh 🥖 and 🍒 danish. Maybe if my week days started with baked treats that would help 😆. Hope your weekend is off to a great start! | #stylebeehome
