I didn’t become a champion by accident...

Back when I got into the whole “fitness lifestyle” my goals were pretty simple.
.
I just wanted a flatter stomach and a bit of muscle.
.
Anything more then the “skinny-fat” body I was trapped in would have been enough for me.
.
Let’s just say things went further...
.
What began as something to overcome my insecurities became my passion and (healthy) obsession.
.
I wanted to achieve the body of a movie star and have an award-winning physique.
.
But I knew it wasn’t just going to happen one day.
.
I knew that there had to be a plan if I was to ever achieve this big goal of mine.
.
Throughout the journey and many successes to become a professional fitness athlete and national champion, I realised the difference between “planning” and “guessing”.
.

I struggled to grow my arms until I started doing this...
.
For years I had spaghetti arms, my chest and back would grow but my arms seemed to be the stubborn area that never wanted to change.
.
More specifically, my biceps. The muscles that make your arms pop in a vest 💪🏽
.
The reason why they never grew was because I wasn’t actually “feeling” them. I was just going through the motions...
.
I thought I was doing what all the big guys were doing to grow their arms but clearly there was something missing.
.
TENSION.
.
It wasn’t until I started slowing the reps down, extending my arms into a full extension (and stretching my biceps) that I was able to grow bigger, hunkier, babe magnet arms.
.
One particular exercise that allows you to create that “tension” I mentioned is the seated dumbbell bicep curls (video above) 👆🏽
.
Positioning you body flat against the bench by elevating your legs, prevents you from using any momentum and “swinging” motions which takes away from using your biceps.
.
Notice how I fully lock my arms and actually tense my triceps before executing each rep too.
.

After 2 mean sets of 10 reps @ 140kg (swipe right to see the second), I finished up with a final set @ 120kg for 12 disgusting reps, leaving me for dead 💀 .
A simple message from this post... “If it doesn’t challenge you, then it will not change you.”
