Twenty years ago I answered a help-wanted ad in the local paper after moving reluctantly from NYC to the Lehigh Valley where my soon-to-be husband was employed. The ad led to a job as a grant writer at the nonprofit Rodale Institute. (No idea why I saved it all this time.) A year later I was hired as a fact checker in the book division of what was then called Rodale Press. I never intended to work in publishing, but once I started I knew I'd found my thing. I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to grow at Rodale over the last 20 years, a company whose mission to inspire health, healing, happiness, and love in the world is so meaningful to me. When I answered that ad no one could have convinced me that in 20 years time I'd become editor in chief at Bicycling. But here we are. (Still kinda pinching myself.) Let's do this.
