Leading the Lead Community in whole new way is Sarah Carslon, the multi-talented and creative Excutive Director for the Historic Homestake Opera House. Sarah is truly one-of-a kind. She is a creator, actress, designer, community builder and arts advocate whose social mission guides her to make the Lead Area miles beyond ordinary.
Formly a publishing creative director her passion lied with graphic design and imagery. Sarah dove into the executive director position at the Opera House in 2011, assisting in strategic planning, organizational structuring, and the funding and planning of restoration projects, including the design of a large in-house interpretive exhibit for the century-old theater. She quickly began to breathe new energy into it, taking care to preserve the hertigage and craftmanship of the structure. Through her creativity, hard work and determination the most iconic building in Lead soon came life once again. In three years, she doubled the number of performing arts, educational events, and tours increasing the tourism and qualify for the Lead Area.
She sits on many committees and is the board president for the Lead Area Chamber. Her collective wisdom and passion for building community lies at the heart of everthing she does.
