One of the amazing things about Jerusalem in "the Fall" is that it doesn't look that different from Jerusalem year round. It's a bit cooler at a lovely 65 degrees (sorry to my loved ones in the states who are freezing...) Yesterday I found a tree with foliage. Real fall colors of Auburn and orange and yellow- crispy and brittle to the touch. I was overjoyed (I need my foliage). Then when I got home (which was just 100 feet from the tree) I saw a bush that had been green all summer long, in full bloom. Gorgeous purple flowers opened up all over the plant, as the recent rains had finally given it enough hydration to shine.
Just goes to show, that we truly do not understand the cycle of life. The rhyme and rhythm of nature. Everything has it's right time, even if it makes no sense to us.
Who can understand why some things die, and some things bloom?
