// breathing deeply. not taking one moment of this for granted.

// i can barely process all the ✨from the last few days (including this spoken word piece from @amenabee). it was an honor to be in the same room as such profoundly influential storytellers and creatives, who have inspired and shaped the stories we love.
what surprised me most was the humility and kindness of those on stage, who shared openly and vulnerably about the fear they face doing their most meaningful creative work and the lessons they've learned about perseverance, thinking outside the box, and choosing to believe for what's possible against the odds. we're all more alike than we know, and if you're experiencing doubt, fear, or uncertainty, you can trust that we all face it too.
the resounding message from these speakers? don't let that hold you back from what you have to bring into the world. embrace curiosity and keep showing up. thank you for such an extraordinary experience, @storygathering.

// i haven't been able to shake the theme of radical gratitude over the last week; simply re-thinking the areas in my life i very often take for granted. it began when i heard a powerful story that began with this scenario: if we were to lose this life we have (dramatic, I know) and we were given the chance to experience it again for a single day, how differently would we go about it?
wouldn't we see our ordinary lives with an overwhelming delight and awe? it's inspiring to think about living today with that redemptive perspective. how might I replace day-to-day frustrations with new opportunity to create solutions or bring joy? how can I practice seeing through the lens of gratitude and God-breathed celebration in a broken world?
ALL THIS TO SAY... one of those gifts i take for granted are the remarkable, beautiful humans God graciously places in my path. this sister, @veraleung, is one of them. she's vibrant; a creative force to be wreckoned with. she is as tender as she is fierce, and if you've met her, you've experienced the crazy peace she carries that can settle any chaos or anxiety we bring to her (not me, of course... 😜). @darling is featuring a few courageous women from @IJM and i'm so glad the world is getting a glimpse of your unfolding and courageous story, vera. may it inspire us to continue to adventure with God in our everyday. 😘

// a reminder this morning to return to our first love and love itself: "so many people walk around with a meaningless life. they seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. this is because they're chasing the wrong things. the way you bring meaning to your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning." - mitch albom

// we are all so much more alike than we are different. we move so fast these days, we can easily miss small moments for meaningful connection and beauty in the ordinary. this week, i've been focusing on slowing down and opening up. i've found really unexpected joy in connections with strangers, taking steps to spark more fun, informal conversation with those who seem different from me. but we all want the same things: to be seen, heard, known, and deeply loved. reflecting that to the world in my own tiny way this week has been giving me a hope i didn't know i needed. ✨

// in a world that tells us we need to be everything at all times to all people, how refreshing and freeing it is to remember that we're better when we're together. i used to think i needed to fix myself before I could be with others. i've learned that when we're at home in ourselves, we can be a home for others. so, care for yourself and let your story heal and inspire those around you: both the light and the dark. it will be messy and there will be people who let you down (and surprise! you will likely let others down), but trust this: it's worth it. we need one another. open up your home, your table, your heart because someone needs what you have to offer.
anyone else learning this? what inspires you to keep leaning in?

// let's show up to life. let's prove how beautiful it can really be. let's face the conflict, redeem it, conquer it, and allow it to mold our character. let's participate in what God is doing in the world. -@donmilleris

// today, i'm celebrating the gift of gathering freely with those i love, expressing gratitude for all those who've fought for our freedom and for the many good things we've been given. happy fourth, friends!

// meet philippe. he and his wife anne (you heard it here: she's absolutely the french joanna gaines!) graciously hosted us for week in the south of france. @airbnb for the win! i love this visual reminder of his warm welcome and the laughter that usually followed, like a friend processing our day and jokingly insisting a local mistook her as french, to which he smirked and replied "i think it is not possible..." πŸ˜‚βœ¨πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

i've been on the receiving end of a lot of love over the last few days. i can barely hold it all in my heart, and for that I'm grateful. thank you, friends. i love this city and the people that bring such life and light to it for me.

// south of france, you sure know how to show off... πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
