A snippet of an interview given by Jesse Jones for #TrembleTremble at the Pavilion of Ireland in Venice Biennale 2017, as produced by @studio.international. #Feminism is a large topic to cover, and with so many diverse opinions, we are positive more questions than answers will arise at Tremble Tremble’s opening at @icasingapore.

Nevertheless, we welcome you to join us in some insightful discussion so mark your calenders for 3 November, 6.30pm.

You may not be able to discern them individually, but our #LASALLE performance and musical theatre students nevertheless play an important role in Stuttgart Ballet’s production of Romeo and Juliet. Thanks to their work as supernumeraries, they add a sense of credibility to crowd scenes on stage and thus enhance the theatre experience for viewers.

Performing tonight and all the way to Saturday, power through team: Athena, Callina, Chitra, Fahim, Joel, James, Jia Xan, Josh, Mamaradlo Pat Jon Gregory Facun, Faiz, Shafiq, Zulkifli, Nicholas, Afiq, Farhanah, Miza, Rifdee, Joash, Vester, Yong Jun, and the two Felixes! 😉

As a Bhutanese studying in Singapore, #film alumna Zuki Juno Toby understood how easy it was to feel lonely in a foreign country. She thus explored this topic in her thesis documentary - Searching for Wives.

Match-making via photographs might seem antiquated but for migrant workers who are on long work visas away from home, this may very well be the only way to find one’s better half. Sensitively handled, and full of raw emotion, Zuki’s work has been covered by publications New York Times and Lianhe Zaobao. #LASALLENews #PSoFA

She is now back home, in Bhutan, and works as a freelance photographer. All the best @zukijuno, and keep your #passion alive!

“Sanyaa, Sanyaa, Sanyaa…” BA(Hons) Fine Arts student, Sanyaa Mehrotra, repeatedly inscribed her name on parchment but to what end? As a young New Delhi woman living in Singapore, this was an exercise in identity exploration.

In another work, she responds to India’s recent implementation of Goods Tax to sanitary napkins. In a culture where a woman’s monthly cycle is perceived as shameful, instead of as a herald of life, Sanyaa hopes her debut exhibition will remind women to not submit their womanhood to the state.

From now till 28 November, RAW/UNCOOKED by Sanyaa will be on showcase at SPRMRKT. Be empowered today. 💪🏻💪🏼💪🏽💪🏾💪🏿 #awareness #MSoFA #LASALLE #ArtsOrNothing

What would an alternative history, where feminism prevailed, look like? Irish artist Jesse Jones sought to answer this in her #interdisciplinary work "Tremble Tremble". Exhibiting presently at the 57th Venice Biennale, a similar installation will be on display at the Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore’s space from 3 November onwards.
More teasers will be here shortly but to view exhibition details, visit here: http://bit.ly/Tremble-Tremble

“Through Mr Takamatsu, I discovered that sometimes the impossible can be possible...” #LASALLE lecturer, Wesley Aroozoo, shared on filming his documentary I Want To Go Home. An autobiographical book of the same name was freshly released over the weekends and within it, Wesley catalogued his journey in meeting Mr Takamatsu - a man who dives weekly in search of his wife who was lost at sea following the Japanese tsunami in 2011.

Sensitive and insightful, Wesley's novel is one that speaks of the human spirit and makes for an inspiring read. To purchase his book, visit: https://www.booksactuallyshop.com/products/i-want-to-go-home #SupportLocal

Psst, I Want To Go Home is also making its world premiere at the renowned Busan International Film Festival 2017, and is competing with 10 others in the Wide Angle category for the Mecenat Award! Congratulations Wesley, and best of luck! 🤜🏻
