One of my favorite hamstring exercises๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Landmine stiff leg deadlift. Superset with sumo squats and that ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ will be on ๐Ÿ”ฅ! #legs #legday #hamstrings #stifflegdeadlifts #squats #legworkout #glutes

Brought out the ๐Ÿ‘™for the first time today ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿป

Been slacking with my recording and workout videos. Again, summer is crazy for us. @svt44 and I got a good leg day in last week and he was able to record most of it. Of course I finished with walking lunges (as always). We completed 4 sets of each exercise and 4 sets of weighted walking lunges ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ For hip thrusters we did 4 sets of 20 reps with the 110lb bar. My goal is to start working on increasing my weight and seeing what my PR for hip thrusters is. #LegDay #glutes #legdayworkout #legdayproblems

On this day (and exact time) next year y'all are going to have to call me Mrs. Lara Van Treese โค๏ธ๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿ‘ฐ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’. #WeSetADate #WeNeedOneOfThoseHastagThings #NoMoreLaraPro

But y'all wanna keep believing these people are natural or worked so hard to achieve these looks .... #ImSleepThough ๐Ÿ˜ด and don't come at me about "body shaming".... y'all know me better than that. They should be ashamed for scamming innocent people who are being mislead every single day.

This hits home with me right now. I'm sure you all have noticed that I'm not posting a lot of "fitness" related things. The way my summer is set up is different than most people. .

. As you all know, my fiancรฉ plays basketball overseas from sept-end of may. During that time I pretty much commit myself to meal prep, workouts, cardio and little play. I hibernate in the winter (pretty sure seasonal depression is a real thing). Once June hits, the suns out and Stephan's home .... which means it's his two and a half month vacation. I do my best to stay on track, but I also want to make sure he enjoys every moment. If that means I don't hit every workout or get my meals done, then so be it. An extra 5-8lbs is a given for me during this time. We never get date nights during fall/winter/spring so we cram all of them into two months---and we both LOVE food and good drinks ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿฅƒ๐Ÿน

Sometimes it drives me crazy because I'm out of my routine, but I know this is the only time I get with him home and I want every second of it to be enjoyable. I think a lot of us obsessed with the fit life forget to enjoy these moments because it causes bloat, weight gain, feelings of guilt etc. Its ok to get out of your routine every now and then... celebrate life and the memories you'll forever have. That's what's important! Not a number on the scale.

I'm not the perfect trainer. I have made plenty of mistakes. My goal when I first started training was to help as many people as I could lose weight. I had an idea in my head that to be "fit and healthy" meant you needed a competitor body (ripped and lean 24/7). I used to get on my clients when they ate pizza or drank because that was not on the "meal plan". They were nervous to tell me about their struggles rather than feel comfortable opening up to me.
After competing, I struggled with body dysmorphia and binge eating and began to see a different side to "being healthy". I began reading books on eating disorders. I dug deeper with clients when it came to eating habits. I even attended several Over Eaters Anonymous meetings and began to see the bigger picture. .
.

Our society has ruined the idea of what it means to be healthy. I can't get on Instagram without seeing half naked girls with every implant and injection/Photoshopping getting thousands of likes and comments ooing and aweing over a physique that they weren't born with or worked for. I've learned about the world of steroids and how 80% of girls who compete are taking them --a VERY reliable source... 99% of girls and guys in higher divisions. Yet these are the first people to get on social media and write captions of "hard work pays off! Buy my program" without mentioning the doctors visits or steroid usage. .
.

It's not fair. It's not ok to mislead people who don't know. It's not ok to give people a false hope that they can achieve this look all on their own (minus a few genetically gifted). It's ruining young men and women's self esteem and confidence.
With all of that said, this message made my day. If I can help one person feel ok with who they are, my job is one. I told myself I'd never give in to the steroids or injections/surgeries just to fit that "social media expectation". And you better believe if I ever do anything I'll be the first to let you know. I'm not against it... do what makes you happy! Just don't lie and mislead people in the process. .

I like to think I've found my balance, although I know I'll always struggle. (Continued in comment section) --

Thank you for putting up with me. โค๏ธ You are such a blessing @svt44. ... even if you do try to fatten me up ๐Ÿ˜‰

We see it everywhere: "Get Beach Body Ready"... "Bikini Body 6 Week Program" ... "Bathing Suits For Your Body Type". Screw. These. Ideas. I get everyone wants to feel good rocking their bathing suit on the beach, but I've talked to several people who won't even go because they don't want to be stared at or feel crappy about themselves because they don't look like the model who advertised the suit. Summer is only here for a few months. Get out and enjoy it! If you want that high cut one piece, get it. If you love the new cheeky bottoms, go for it! F what everyone else may think or say --they're dealing with their own issues as well. Don't look back in September and wish you would have taken that vacation or gone to the lake with friends. Put that suit on, rock it and enjoy the sunshine! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘™#EffYourBeautyStandards #LoveYourself #BikiniReady #LifesShort
