What remains .
Yesterday my friends and I attempted to celebrate a sober St. Paddy’s Day around Calgary at 3 family-friendly events; starting with a Trek for Tourette’s, which cancelled the walk portion of the fundraiser, then off to St. Patrick’s Island for curling, hot cocoa and a bass-buss DJ party, which was cancelled entirely, then lastly taking in some Celtic music and dance at the Calgary Farmer’s Market, where I’d never seen the market so busy and bustling. I was disappointed that 2/3 events were cancelled “due to weather” even though it was a mild, sunny day. C’mon Calgary! Aren’t we made of tougher stuff than that?? .
I was equally disappointed to see that the recently constructed park at St. Patrick’s Island, which used to be populated with hundreds of these cheery, brightly coloured bistro tables and chairs for al fresco dining and socializing, had all been stolen, save for these 2 last remaining chairs and 1 table. 😔 .
