Just came back from the press screening of the latest Bollywood film. #Phillauri 👻. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Starring @diljitdosanjh @anushkasharma @mehreenpirzadaa #SurajSharma
The film is set in the modern era and in 1919. The film is a comic and evolves around a wedding between Kanan & Anu. (Suraj & Mehreen). The story unfolds between Shashi & Roop (Anuskha & Diljit). For me the acting of Suraj and Anuskha was the best since it was convincing, the delivery of dialogue, presence on screen, their innocence and confusion all came across naturally. Diljit didn't do it for me and there wasn't any wow factor. However, I have never been impressed by Diljit in Bollywood from the small part of him in Udta Punjab. I personally like him in Punjabi films.
The outfits were great, the Sufi look of Diljit depicted his role. It really felt like we were taken back to the 1920's. The smudged eyeliner look gave him a different persona something which we haven't seen from him before.
The make up was on point! I loved the simplicity of Anuskha and Mehreen.
I felt some parts of the film were too stretched, but it was a great attempt overall. I wouldn't watch it again. But if you want a light comedy then definitely go and watch it. @simply_bhangra #Bollywood #FilmReview #PressScreening
