We are very excited to share a wonderful project we were part of which has been published in the Australian Financial Review's Life and Leisure liftout today. It was a big collaborative effort to get this project realised – the team consisted of Yuwaalaraay artist Lucy Simpson, @gmiyay, who created the wonderful concept, interior designers Geyer, committed client Westpac, 16 weavers from Elcho Island Arts and @milingimbiartandculture and Koskela. The concept Lucy developed was based on the local language word "Dyalgala" which means to hold or embrace. Our role was to assist with the design resolution of the pods and to work with the weavers to realise these beautiful structures. We're happy to report that close to $60,000 was paid to the artists and art centres who spent months collecting materials, dyeing the materials and weaving them. Lucky Westpac staff who get to take a moment out of their workday to quietly reflect under these incredible canopies!
