My favorite bowl of noodles, anytime of day.
Thick cut beef soup with thick rice noodles.
For the last 5 days, I've been back in my hometown city Guangzhou, China to see my grandpa once again. Being in China means no Instagram, no Snapchat, Facebook, or even Google.. Legit it felt like I was momentarily cut off from the outside world. Though odd at first, there is something weirdly satisfying about closing yourself off from all the constant noise, and instead focusing solely on the world around you, observing those from all walks of life. Early morning I walk out our street and already I see people, their days started 5 hours ahead of me: people selling sock for a living, others selling homemade sweets, haggling over jade, homeboy cutting up freshly killed sheep to sell, de-blooding chickens, old guy sitting in the same chair as yesterday.. Staying at grandpa's place is no 5 star hotel, but it's still home regardless. I like that, coming back every once and a while; a reminder to stay humble.
