My members are one week into my second Summer Transformation Challenge & are crushing it! 💪🏼🔥

One has already fit into a pair of shorts she has never been able to fit into, two others have lost over 1/2 a stone, they’ve all said they don’t feel like they’re dieting & are actually eating more now than they was beforehand, they have tons more energy throughout the day, they’ve all lost centimetres & are noticing small body composition changes... But we’re only in WEEK ONE! ☝🏼😌

And to think many of them have the cheek to say I’ve ‘ONLY’ lost this, or I’ve ‘ONLY’ achieved that *eye roll* 🙄

So for all y’all who find yourselves saying I’ve ‘only’ to yourself remember, progress is PROGRESS, no matter how small. Whether it’s 1lb or 100lb, 1cm or 100cm, it’s something to be incredibly proud of.

I’ve had an awesome weekend away down London, we got my mum Bruno Mars tickets at Hyde Park for her 60th birthday, and once it came round we decided to make a little weekend away of it.👭💕

We’ve shopped, ate, danced, sweated, sang, walked thousands of steps and pampered ourselves silly. It was so much fun. Safe to say mum enjoyed it! 🙌🏻

You don't have to want to lose fat to take part, whatever your health/training goal, a good plan will aid it.

I eat sweets everyday...🍬

I often get funny looks when I’m in a store piling my basket full of sweets.

I also often get asked by people who catch me eating sweets “how can you eat sweets & not get fat?”, or “I wish I could eat sweets like you & not gain weight”.
_________________________________________
So it’s also important to talk about the difference between sports nutrition & general ‘health’ nutrition for the average person (largely sedentary). In the role of sports nutrition & improving performance/body composition sugar can have numerous advantages. It is important to understand that sugar consumption plays a small role in the overall diet priorities for altering body composition &/or improving sports performance. Just because I am telling you that sugar consumption can optimize these things, does not mean that you can go popping starbursts or Haribo all day & it will make you look like a fitness god/goddess come next week. 😂

There are much higher priority aspects of nutrition to tend to before you start playing with details that have a small effect, but can optimize your results.

I put together gift packs for all the ladies who completed my ‘Summer Shred Challenge’, I topped them all off with a variety of different sweeties, but I also recommend that they chose to consume them around/during workouts to optimise their use for training fuel.

“You can still eat chocolate & lose fat” 🍫

Suddenly everyone’s ears in the room pricked up. 😂

Before working closely with someone on their nutrition I always ask them “what’s held you back from achieving your goal so far?” Replies I receive are; “I’m unhealthy & fat because I eat chocolate” Replace the word chocolate with other words such as; cheese, sugar, wine, bread, beer etc & we have a whole host of different food groups people blame for being overweight.

Consuming chocolate, cheese, pizza, bread, pancakes, sweets, burgers etc are not to blame for you being overweight & unfit.
_
Consuming too many calories & not exercising are to blame for you being overweight & unfit.
_
Stop blaming certain food/drink & instead say “I eat TOO MUCH”, no more labelling food ‘bad & good’. Food is energy, but different types of energy are utilised by the body in different ways.
_
I’m always preaching to my clients the importance of sustainability. If you can’t sustain a plan how’re you suppose to make it your lifestyle & sustain your results in the long run? Or how’re you expected to stick to it long enough to see results? You don’t.
_
It’s all about balance. The reason we eat ‘healthier food’ isn’t to lose weight it’s to feel good on the inside which then radiates out, the role of consuming health foods is important for your lifelong health & well being. Healthy food provides our bodies with energy, protein, essential fats, vitamins & minerals to live, grow & function properly. That isn’t going to happen if all you consume is sugar & processed food for example.

If you want to look & feel your very best, choosing to make healthier food choices 80% of the time is the answer, so that doesn’t mean you can’t consume that chocolate bar.
_

Fat loss = Energy in less than energy out.
Maintenance = Energy in same as energy out.
Weight gain = Energy in more than energy out.
