I don't know about you guys but I can't stand feeling cold, I absolutely despise it.
Which brings me to yet another reason I adore training, it warms the body right down deep into the soul.
I could of been freezing my ass off all day long but once I've trained I finally feel warm, shame it only lasts for a few hours.
Here's to wearing 2+ layers everyday for the next few months. 😐

I agreed to hold a Halloween party at our CrossFit box on the weekend & we all had a SPOOK-tacular time. πŸ‘»πŸ™ŒπŸΌ I hope you've had/are having as much Halloween fun as we all did. πŸŽ‰

I didn't manage to take any selfies as I was behind the camera all night but I decided on a spooky traditional Halloween costume this year instead of the usual girly/pretty options & went for a Zombie Mummy. πŸ’€

It turned out quite well considering it only cost me Β£5 to make. πŸ˜‚

Just because you feel sore doesn't mean you had the best workout, sometimes too much soreness can actually be a bad thing.
Here are 3 thing I recommend to help you control that muscle soreness & ensure that you're making progress in the gym.
✏️Programming: A well planned progressive & consistent training program is important. This means making changes week to week. If you're going from one workout to the next every week you will constantly be sore, trust the process, stick to your program & you'll see your body truly adapt & change. πŸ₯—Nutrition: Making sure you consume enough protein & carbohydrates in a 1-3 hour time window either before, during or after a workout can help to improve your recovery. Your body needs sufficient fuel to recover & who doesn't like eating? πŸšΆπŸΌβ€β™€οΈMove: keeping active can help reduce soreness, going for a walk (like I did with Peanut in the above photo), work on your mobility & don't be afraid to get back into the gym & break a sweat. Trust me when I say you'll feel better leaving than you did walking in.
Increased heart rate = increased blood flow = increased muscle recovery. πŸ’ͺ🏻❀️

I often get asked my advice on how to sustain weight loss, having achieved sustained fat loss results with my members & myself.

I always advise to keep things simple, trying to cook / prepare three meals per day containing tons of different ingredients can become overwhelming & isn't something that can be sustained especially if you find yourself short of time or have a family to cater for.

Your plate should contain a good portion of lean protein, some healthy carbs, a small portion of healthy fats & loaded with veggies / salad.

Don't label foods bad & good. Restriction creates temptation, telling yourself you can't have something only makes you want it more #Mindset

I recommend clients ask themselves this; I can have it if I really want to but do I actually need it, am I hungry, do I really want it, is it going to be worth it, am I going to beat myself up afterwards for having it.

Give yourself a choice instead of making it a challenge.

Don't diet, eat well, move often, laugh a lot, enjoy the journey.
