Yesterday we lost our best friend, our sweet Lola. It's been a difficult month to say the least. Lola had a tumor on her liver rupture a month ago. After much contemplation we realized she would likely not make it through a surgery:( She was diagnosed with the likelihood of having cancer. The kids said goodbye a month ago and it was devastating. They told us she would not make it through the night the night the tumor ruptured let alone the next day. One month later, the kids have thought she was the miracle pup that had been cured. We have been enjoying every minute with our beloved Lola. Taking good care of her and loving her until the very end. We haven't slept much in months, especially Rich letting her out in the middle of the night, feeding her at all hours, sleeping with her downstairs when it was to hard for her to climb up the stairs.
Lola and our babies grew up together. We got Lola when I was 5 months pregnant with Emilia (YES, that was CRAZY). She was the sweetest, most lovable, gentle, CALM, and kind pup. We couldn't have asked for a better companion for us and our littles. I've spent the last day searching every folder, fb photos, iPhone photos, the kids devices, etc to lump all of our photos into one spot-on fb. Over all the years, I'm so sad that we don't have a family photo with Lola and I have no photos of just her and I:( Lola was also referred to by the kids by several names such as Puperoni, Lola Jola, Joe, Donavan, Pouchey, Puper Donker Do. We will miss so much about our sweet Lola. Always being greeted by her wagging nub, her U turn wiggle butt, holding a toy in her mouth ready to play, cuddling when we were sick, watching the kids walk to school, watching shows with us, reading books, doing homework, special bedtime baths and snuggles. We will forever miss our sweet Lola. I hope you are chasing squirrels and running in the country fields of heaven with your doggie friends. May you always find the light and the biggest, fluffiest couch, blankets, and pillows to sleep on.
Rest in Peace sweet girl. You can swipe right to see more photos over the years.
